Initial data
Olivier, Perano and a 3rd man in BARRISOL [?] (France) I saw a reddish disk with a diameter of about 12 feet (3.6 m), beside which stood a creature 4 feet (121 cm) growth in the "wetsuit". Against the body he had 2 huge eyes. The suit was bright and shiny as glass.
Kind of hazy glow surrounded the ship. One of the men got within 20 yards (18 m) from him and was paralyzed. The ship took off, threw it on the ground and quickly stood up.
Perhaps a journalistic joke.

Mr. Olivier and Perano and a 3rd man saw a reddish disc about 12 ft in diameter, with a 4 foot being close by, wearing a “diving suit.” His head was large with respect to the body and he had 2 enormous eyes. The suit was bright & shiny like glass. A sort of misty glow surrounded the craft. One of the men came within 20 yards of it & found himself paralyzed. The craft took off, throwing him to the ground, and rose very fast.

Possible journalistic prank.
Hypotheses
Deliberate falsification
This version includes any falsifications that imitate unexplained phenomena both from the outside: practical jokes, flash mobs, fake news, witness fraud, staging, etc.
There are many ways to make something similar to a ghost or a flying saucer from improvised materials, without using video and photomontage.
Many homemade things made for the sake of a joke, a practical joke or a direct imitation of a mystical being or event can be taken as unexplained not only in photos and videos, but also in reality.
