This article "Humanoid dies in Sweden", written by By John Fontaine, was published in the late 1980s or early 1990s. It was probably published in the UFO Universe magazine as a reprint.

At the exhibition entitled "Love or Chaos" in Charlottenborg (Copenhagen, Sweden), several hundred people visited the FUFOS booth every day to listen to a continuous lecture supported by slides. One morning, when several schools visited the booth, I noticed an outstanding gentleman, about 60 years old, who listened to a lecture several times and showed great interest every time a slide show about humanoids appeared. Although the lecture was interesting, I could not understand why an ordinary listener attended it several times, so my curiosity was aroused and I started talking to this person. At first he was very reserved and didn't want to go into details, but when he saw that I took him seriously, he eventually told his story. For an hour he talked about his experience while I took notes, and indeed, it was a strange story:

"I once saw and talked to a man who looked like the man shown on the slides. In 1955, I worked as a logger in the Gulf of Bothnia in Vestra-Norrland in Sweden with two brothers who supplied timber to a sawmill. One early morning in July, around six o'clock, we were busy chopping trees when we heard a sound like a large animal making its way through the forest: branches snapped and rattled. A moment later we saw a cigar-shaped object flying randomly between trees and branches. The leaves were falling to the ground. I immediately thought it was a small plane that had lost its wings and was now, without control, preparing for an emergency landing.

About 300-400 meters away there was a river, to which, obviously, the plane was heading. It was obvious that the plane would hit the ground in a few seconds, so we started running in the direction where it disappeared. 15-20 meters before we left the forest, the plane crashed in a clearing 30-40 meters from the river.

I do not know what we expected, maybe a deafening blow. But that didn't happen. There was no sound, but a giant flash of light covered the entire area like a huge light bulb, so that the sunlight almost disappeared. The light was so intense that we could see through the trees. A few seconds later, a wave came that swept all around the center of the light. All three of us fell forward, branches and leaves flew past us. All of this probably lasted only a fraction of a second, but I still remember how I crashed into a tree, time stopped, and my whole life was instantly revised. Even the normal noise of the forest has stopped.

When we recovered a little, we went out into the clearing to see what had happened. Nothing was visible at the point of impact, only a few piles were scattered around. We looked at each other in bewilderment and decided to get back to work. At the entrance to the forest, one of the brothers suddenly shouted: "Here's a dwarf dressed in a uniform." Obviously, the plane fell into the river, and it must have been thrown out.

For a while we stood paralyzed, looking at the lifeless body. He was of a small build, about 110-120 centimeters tall. Around his body, the white light vibrated like a halo. When one of the brothers tried to touch the man to see if he was alive, he retreated with a cry. He was deathly pale and said he felt as if he had received an electric shock. At the same time, the stranger opened his eyes and said in Swedish: "Don't touch me, it will only cause you difficulties."

His Swedish was so perfect that the brothers who spoke the Swedish dialect could not understand very much of what was said later. "Now you know who I am," he said. He knew in advance what we were going to answer, and simply demonstrated that his question was correctly understood.

Suddenly I calmed down and studied it carefully. He wasn't a dwarf. He was very well built with broad shoulders and normal facial features. His skin was yellowish, like an Asian. The eyes were deep and black, with no white around. His face was bruised with a couple of large wounds on his chin and forehead. They didn't bleed. His head was slightly lowered, and his hair was almost white. The earlobes were at the neck and resembled the fin of a shark. The lips were wrinkled, narrow and colorless. When he smiled reassuringly, I found a row of small teeth in the upper and lower parts of his mouth. I noticed that his canines were flat and as wide as our two front teeth. His hands were small with five thin fingers without nails, and when he moved his hand, it seemed that the ring finger fused with the little finger or moved synchronously.

His uniform was made of reddish metal and seemed to be glued to his body. The head and hands were free, but on the feet the clothes turned into a pair of closed shoes, size 35-37. The soles were ribbed and vibrating, and for a moment I thought of the tracks on the tank.

The stranger looked at me and nodded slightly. There was no doubt that he knew what I was thinking. With these shoes, he could roll back and forth without moving his feet. Around his waist he had a wide silver metal belt with an unusually large buckle, which slightly glowed with a blue hue, which later, when he died, became dark blue. There was a yellow sign in the middle of the buckle - UV - it was similar to the V that was included in the U.

He knew I was studying him, and he said: "It's because of the clothes that I can stay with you for a while. Internally I am destroyed. His right hand disappeared into the clothes on his hip, where not a single pocket was visible. He took out a rectangular object. It was the size of a box of matches with 12 small indents. With a pencil attached to the object, he used different indents several times. When I finished, I tried to throw it away.

"Don't touch it," he said with a smile. "He will tell my comrades what happened so they don't look for me. From where I come from, they are waiting for me.

The stranger lay for a while, as if asleep. His hands were tightly clenched, and it was obvious that he felt a lot of pain.

Suddenly the brothers were a little confused, looked at each other and without words returned to the forest. Later, years later, remembering this incident, I am convinced that the stranger somehow asked the brothers to leave without saying a word. I sat, talked and listened to him for two hours before he died.

What they talked about during those two hours, I could not force the witness to reveal. I begged and persuaded him, but there was nothing to be done, just a few fragments:

  • The stranger came from a place in the vicinity of the constellation that we call the Eagle.
  • Several cosmic races have visited us, some so advanced that we could only see them when they materialized or dematerialized to visit a parallel universe orbiting the Earth.
  • Some visitors have been keeping people on earth under surveillance and have been doing so for thousands of years.
  • Others took samples of the land for the purpose of subsequent settlements.
  • Still others have been communicating with humanity for centuries.

In this context, it is rather irrelevant what was said, even if it would be interesting to get more information about this conversation. I could understand from the testimony that this was not what was usually said in connection with other meetings of this kind.

The witness continued: "Shortly before the stranger's death, he gave me a folded bag made of invisible material and said: "When I die, the light will disappear from my body, and with the help of two other men, you will put me in this bag and take me to the river, where I will disappear. Then rinse yourself thoroughly in water so as not to get sick."

Now he was breathing heavily, and I could see that the end was near. The halo around him became weaker and gradually disappeared. His blue buckle gradually darkened. He looked at me for a moment and smiled. He said something in a language I've never heard before or since. Suddenly he switched to Swedish, and I got the last couple of sentences... "You came with any desire and left against your own desire. Our life is like steam."

He said a few more words, but his voice was so weak that I didn't catch them. I am convinced that he prayed to some deity before his death. I was very touched.

With the help of the brothers, we put him in a bag and carried him into the river. The bag smelled of sulfur and burned our hands as if they were raw flesh. It was quite heavy from 90 to 100 kg. When the bag got into the water, it began to bubble, and we realized that some kind of chemical process had begun. After 5 minutes there was nothing left, and I thought that maybe the stranger was hoping for death in the river to die quickly, instead of lying for hours suffering while I asked some stupid questions in my mind. He probably would have preferred to die alone, thinking about his home.

"I think that's it," the witness said and prepared to leave. "I stayed for a couple of years with my brothers, but we rarely talked about this special day. I think, however, each of us went through this every day. The brothers are already dead, but I remember it as if it happened yesterday. Even years later, I immediately recognized him from your slide. Strange, I thought I was the only one who knew this type. Over the years I have seen many photos and drawings of visitors from outer space, but until today I have not seen anyone like him."

The witness took out a piece of metal and held it to my nose. "Look," he said. I looked amazed. It was a bit like a hook. “What is it?” He laughed. "A couple of days after the incident, I wandered where he was lying. The rectangular object was gone, but the pencil was lying on the grass. I kept it as proof that I wasn't dreaming."

He's gone. And while I was looking after him in surprise, he disappeared into the crowd. An anonymous person who, with his story and pencil, could get on the front page of world newspapers.

___________________________________

In July 1955, a logger, who preferred to remain anonymous, was working in a forest near the Gulf of Bothnia in Vestra-Norrland, Sweden, together with his two brothers.

At some point, all three of them heard a very loud and incomprehensible noise, which they described as a sound similar to if a very large animal was rushing wildly in the bushes.

Listening to this mysterious noise, rustling and cracking of branches and bushes, they saw a cigar-shaped object above them, which flew so low that it touched the tops of trees. Fragments of branches and leaves rained down on the men like an avalanche.

At first they thought it was a small plane that crashed, so when the object flew over them, they ran in the direction where it was falling. And the fact that he was definitely falling was obvious, the object was rapidly losing height.

"I do not know what we expected, maybe a deafening roar when the plane collided with the ground, but it did not happen. There was no sound, just a giant flash of light engulfed everything around, like a huge flashbulb, so that the sunlight almost disappeared.

The light was so bright that we could see through the trees. For a second, I could even see the seeds of the trees, and they were more than one meter in diameter, like on an X-ray.

A few seconds later, a vacuum wave came, sucking everything towards the center of the light. All three of us flew forward, branches and leaves flew past us.

All this probably lasted only a fraction of a second, but I still remember how I crashed into a tree, time stopped, and my whole life instantly scrolled through my head. Even the usual sounds of the forest have stopped."

When the three loggers finally got to the place where they thought the plane had fallen, they found themselves in a clearing where for some reason neither the plane nor other equipment was visible. There were damaged trees, a bunch of broken branches, but no remains of the plane.

But they found a living humanoid creature on the branches. It was a very short man, about 110-120 cm in height, around whose body a strange white light "vibrated", "like a halo".

The creature seemed dead at first, and one of the brothers stretched out his hand to touch the lifeless body, he immediately pulled his hand back, as he received a strong electric shock. And then the little man opened his eyes and said in perfect Swedish:

"Don't touch me, it will only bring you problems."

"After that, I immediately calmed down and carefully examined it. He was not a dwarf in the broad sense of the word. He was very proportionally built, with broad shoulders and normal facial features. His skin was yellowish, like an Asian. The eyes were deep-set and black, without whites.

His face was covered with bruises with a couple of large wounds on his chin and forehead. There was no blood flowing, but the skin around the wounds seemed moist. The top of his head was slightly covered with a down of almost white hair. The earlobes were one with the neck and resembled the fins of a shark. The lips were wrinkled, narrow and colorless.

When he smiled encouragingly, which he did often, he exposed a row of small teeth in the upper and lower jaw. I especially noticed that his canines were flat and as wide as our two front teeth.

His hands were small with five thin fingers without nails, and when he moved his hand, it seemed that the ring finger had fused with the little finger, because they moved synchronously.

His clothes looked like they were made of reddish metal and seemed to fit snugly to his body. The head and hands were free, but on the feet the clothes turned into a pair of closed shoes of size 35-37.

The soles of the boots were ribbed and vibrating, and for a moment I thought of the tracks on the tank. The stranger looked at me and nodded slightly. There was no doubt that he knew what I was thinking.

With these shoes, he could roll back and forth on the surface without even moving his feet. Around his waist he had a wide silver metal belt with an unusually large buckle, which glowed slightly with a light blue shade, which later, when he was dead, turned dark blue.

In the middle of the buckle was a yellow sign — UV — it looked like the letter V, which was included in the letter U."

A strange creature told the lumberjack that he was thrown out of his spaceship, he was seriously injured and is now dying. Then he took out of his pocket a rectangular object the size of a matchbox and with 12 small depressions. Then he took out another object, similar to a pencil, and poked into some of the recesses of the first object before throwing this object into the bushes.

The alien then told the lumberjack not to touch him, and that the object was a homing beacon so that his companions would know where they should come to pick up his body when he died.

Then a curious thing happened. The two brothers seemed disoriented and left the clearing, leaving the main eyewitness alone with the dying creature in the forest:

"The stranger lay for a while as if he was asleep. His hands were tightly clenched, and it was obvious that he was in great pain. Then my brothers suddenly became confused, looked at each other, and then, without saying a word, returned to the forest. Later, years later, remembering this incident, I am convinced that the stranger somehow asked my brothers to leave without saying a word.

I sat, talked and listened to him for two hours before he died. Shortly before his death, a stranger gave me a rolled-up package from an invisible pocket and said: "When I die, the light will disappear from my body, and with the help of two other men, you will put me in this bag and carry me to the river, where I will disappear. Then you should wash thoroughly in water so as not to get sick."

Now he was breathing heavily and I could see that the end was near. The halo around his body became weaker and gradually disappeared. His light blue buckle was gradually darkening. He looked at me and smiled. He said something in a language I've never heard before or since.

Suddenly he switched to Swedish, and I heard the last couple of sentences:

"You came without any desire and are leaving against your own desire. Our life is like evaporation."

He said a few more words, but his voice was so weak that I couldn't hear them. I am convinced that he prayed to some deity before his death. I was very touched."

Then the brothers came back looking a little dazed and confused, as if they weren't quite sure what had just happened to them or why they had left. The men put the dead alien in a bag and carried him to the river, noticing that the bag smells of sulfur and burns their hands. When they lowered the bag into the water, the body and the bag dissolved.

"When the package got into the water, it started bubbling around it, and we realized that some kind of chemical process had begun. After 5 minutes, there was nothing left of the bag and the body, and I thought that maybe the stranger was hoping to fall into the river for a quick death, instead of lying for a couple of hours suffering. He would probably prefer to die alone, thinking of his home many light years away."

A few days after this incident, the lumberjack again went to the area to find a rectangular object thrown out by the alien, but found only the object that looked like a pencil. He kept it as a memory and as proof that he had not dreamed all this.

After that, he kept this story to himself for many years. Only when he talked to the researcher A UFO named John Fontaine, who wrote about all this in an article titled "A humanoid dies in Sweden", the story became public.

Fontaine personally talked to the lumberjack and, it seems, was the only one with whom this person ever talked about it, but the problem was that the eyewitness never even fully disclosed to him the details of his long conversation with the alien when they were alone:

"What they talked about during these two hours, I could not get the witness to tell. I begged and persuaded him, but he didn't tell me anything, just a few fragments below.

He said that the alien came from a place located near the constellation that we call the Eagle. Several races from outer space have visited Earth and some have advanced so far that we could only see them when they materialized or dematerialized to visit a parallel universe orbiting Earth.

Some aliens have kept people on earth under surveillance and have done so for millennia, while others have taken Earth samples for the purpose of later settlements, and still others have had contact with humanity for centuries. That's it," Fontaine wrote.

My blog:

While rummaging through my files checking on Operation Right To Know material I came across this article I have been trying to find for years, as well as the three star general article that is available in another post. This Swedish case is one of those cases that involves a ethical extraterrestrial human, that those who study less ethical ET’s tend to ignore. Such reluctance to study all the evidence keeps folks conceptually trapped in their little clump of trees in the forest. I don’t have a date on this article but it was published in the late 1980’s or early 1990’s. I think it was was published in UFO Universe Magazine as a reprint. I searched the net but all I found was a fragment of the article in a list of humanoid cases from 1955 so I typed in this article by hand.

The title of the article is, Humanoid Dies In Sweden, and was written by John Fontaine. It is noted that this report was filed with fellow members of a Swedish UFO group translated into English called Free UFO Study. This is a very detailed, extraordinary and moving case
much like the story Larry Requa told me of finding the mummified alien bodies in BC Canada. The article follows.

At an exhibition called “Love or Chaos” in Charlottenborg, Copenhagen, Sweden several hundred people each day visited the FUFOS (Free UFO Studies group) stand to listen to continuous lecture supported by slides, and the many questions indicated that interest in
UFOs is steadily increasing. One morning when several schools were visiting the stand, I noticed a distinguished gentleman, about 60 years old, who listened to the lecture several times and became extremely interested each time the slide-show came to the section about humanoids, a series of slides produced on the basis of a substantial number of interviews with witnesses. Even though the lecture was interesting, I could not understand why an ordinary listener would attend it several times, so my curiosity was aroused, and I started to talk to the man. At the beginning he was very reserved, and did not want to go into details,
but when he saw that I took him seriously, he eventually told his story. For an hour he told about his experience while I took notes, and indeed, it was a strange story:

“I once saw and talked to a man like the one shown on the slides. In 1955, I was working as a lumberjack in the Gulf of Bothnia in Vestra Norrland in Sweden with two brothers who supplied timber to a sawmill in mid-Sweden. One early morning in July, about six o’clock, we were busy cutting trees, when we heard a sound like a big animal thrashing its way through the forest, or like branches breaking and rattling. A moment later we saw a cigar-shaped object flying haphazardly in between the trees and branches as leaves were falling to the ground. My immediate thought was that it was a small airplane, which had lost its wings and was now preparing, without control, for a crash landing.”

“Approximately 300-400 meters away flowed a river, which the aircraft evidently was heading for. It was obvious that the aircraft would hit the ground within a few seconds, so we started to run in the direction where it had disappeared. 15-20 meters before we came out of the
forest, the aircraft crashed in a clearing 30-40 meters from the river.”

“I don’t know what we had expected, maybe a deafening crash, when the impact of the aircraft with the ground caused the petrol to explode. But it did not happen. Not a sound was heard, but a gigantic flash of light engulfed the whole area like a vast flashbulb, so that the sunlight almost disappeared. The light was so intense that we in fact could see through the trees. For a second I could see the grains of the trees and these were more than one meter in diameter, like an x-ray. Seconds later came a vacuum wave sucking everything towards the center of the light. All three of us tumbled forwards, branches and leaves flying past us. It all probably lasted only a fraction of a second, but I still remember how I crashed into a tree, time stopped, and my whole life was reviewed in my mind in flash. Even the
normal sound of the forest had stopped.”

“When we had recovered somewhat, we went out into the clearing to see what had happened. Nothing was to be seen at the point of impact, only a few piles of timber were scattered around. We looked bewildered at each other and decided to return to work. At the entrance to the forest one of the brothers suddenly shouted: “Here’s a dwarf dressed in uniform.” Obviously the plane has crashed in the river and he must have been hurled out.”

“For a while we stood paralyzed gazing at the lifeless body. He was small of build, about 110-120 centimeters tall. Around his body a white light vibrated like a halo. When one of the brothers tried to touch the man to see whether he was still alive he retreated with a
scream. He was deadly pale and said he felt as if he had received an electrical shock. At the same time the stranger opened his eyes and said in perfect Swedish: “Do not touch me, it will only bring you difficulties.”

His Swedish was so perfect that the brothers who spoke a Swedish dialect could not understand very much from what was later said. “Now you know who I am,” he said. He knew in beforehand what we were going to answer and just demonstrated that his question was correctly grasped.

Suddenly I became quite calm and studied him closely. He was no dwarf. He was very well-built with broad shoulders and normal features. His skin was yellowish like that of an Asian. The eyes were deep socketed and black, without any white around. His face was
badly bruised with a couple of big wounds on the chin and on the forehead. It did not bleed but the skin watered around the wounds. The top of his head was slightly downy and the hair almost white. The earlobes were one with the neck and resembled a shark’s fin. The lips were wrinkled, narrow and colorless. When he smiled reassuringly, which he did a lot, he revealed a row of small teeth in the upper as well as the lower part of his mouth. I especially noticed that his canine teeth were flat and as broad as two of our front teeth. His hands were small with five slender fingers without nails and when he moved his hand it looked as if the ring finger had grown together to the little finger, if not they moved synchronized.

His uniform was of a reddish metal and appeared glued to his body closely. Head and hands were free, but at the feet the clothing continued into a couple of closed shoes, size 35-37. The foot-soles were ribbed and vibrated, and for a moment I thought of caterpillars
on a tank.

The stranger looked at me and nodded slightly. There was no doubt that he knew what I was thinking. With those shoes he could roll forwards and backwards without moving his feet. Around the waist he had a broad silvery metal belt with an unusually large buckle, which shone slightly in a light-blue shade, which later when he was dead, turned dark blue. In the middle of the buckle was a sign in yellow — UV — it looked like a V which was incorporated in a U.

He knew I was studying him, and he said; “It is because of the clothing I can stay with you a while. Internally, I am destroyed.” His right hand disappeared into his clothing at the hip, where no pocket could be seen. He brought out a rectangular object. It was of the size of a box of matches with 12 small indents. With a slate pencil attached to the object, he engaged the different indents several times. When completed he tried to throw it a few yards away.

“Don’t touch it,” he said smilingly. “It will tell my fellow men what has happened, so that they don’t come looking for me. Where I come from somebody is waiting for me.”

The stranger lay for a while as if asleep. His hands were tightly clasped, and it was evident he went through great pains.

Suddenly the brothers became somewhat confused, looked at each other, and then went back to the forest without a word. Later, years after when recalling the incident, I am convinced that the stranger one way or the other asked the brothers to leave, without saying a word. I sat talking and listening to him for two hours before he died.

What they talked abut for those two hours I could not get the witness to reveal. I begged and urged him, but there was nothing to do, just a few fragments like these.

* The stranger came from a place in the vicinity of the constellation we call -The Eagle-.

*Several races from space have visited us, some so far advanced, that we could only see them when they materialized or dematerialized to visit a parallel universe in the orbit of earth.

*Some visitors kept people on earth under surveillance and had done so for thousands of years.

*Others took samples of the earth, with a view to later settlements.

* Still others have had contact with mankind for centuries.

In this context it is rather immaterial what was talked about even if it would have been interesting with further information about this conversation. I could understand from the witness that it had not been what was normally being told in connection with other encounters of this kind.

The witness continued: “Just before the stranger died, he gave me folded bag from the invisible pocket and said: “When I am dead, the light will disappear from my body and with the help of the other two men you shall put me in this bag and carry me out into the river where I shall disappear. Then you shall rinse yourself thoroughly in the water, so that you don’t get ill.”

He was now breathing heavily, and I could see the end was near. The halo around him became weaker and gradually disappeared. His light blue buckle gradually got darker. He looked at me for a moment and smiled. The he said something in a language I have never heard before or since. Suddenly he switched into Swedish, and I got the last couple of sentences… “You have come with out any wish to and depart
against you own wish. Our life is like vapor.”

He said a few more worlds, but his voice was so weak that I did not catch them. I am convinced he prayed to some deity before dying. I was very moved.

With the help of the brothers we got him into the bag and carried him out into the river. The bag smelled of sulphur and burned our hands as if they were raw flesh. He was quite heavy between 90 to 100 kilos. When the bag came into the water, it started bubbling around it and we realized that some chemical process had started. After 5 minutes nothing remained, and I thought that maybe the stranger had hoped to crash in the river to a quick death, instead of lying for a couple of hours suffering, whilst a minor in the mind asked some silly questions. He would probably have preferred to die alone, thinking of his home light years away.

“I think that was all;” said the witness and prepared to take leave. “I stayed for a couple of years with the brothers, but we seldom talked about that special day. I think, however, each of us went through it every day. The brothers are dead now, but I remember it like it had happened just yesterday. Even years later I knew him immediately from your slide. It is strange, I thought I was the only one who knew this type. Over the years I have see many pictures and drawings of visitors from space, but I’ve seen nobody like him until today.”

The witness produced a piece of metal and held it to my nose. “Look” he said. I looked bewildered. It resembled a bit crochet hook. “What is it?” He laughed knowingly. “A couple of days after the incident I wandered around where he had been lying. The rectangular object was gone, but the pencil slate was lying in the grass shining.
I have kept it as a proof that I was not dreaming.”

He left. And while I gazed astonished after him, he disappeared in the crowd. An anonymous, who with his story and pencil slate could hit thefront page on the world’s newspapers.

I believe that only because the story is true, it possible to carry it alone for so many years. A psychiatrist could possible determine that a slide picture opened up for a long subdued incident, suppressed of fear for ridicule. There are probably many stories like this which are unfortunately never known.
