Two young girls, 16-year-old Mirjana Dragicevic and 15-year-old Ivanka Ivankovic, climbed the mountain to smoke cigarettes and enjoy the view.
On the summit they saw strange lights flashing in the sky over the cross on mount Križevac. Then a bright light appeared on Podbrdo mountain, about 40 meters away, and they saw that "a beautiful lady in a gray dress with a long white veil" appeared in the center of the glow. Both girls ran down the hill in a panic.
Halfway down the mountain, they met friends from the village and told their story. The group of them returned to the mountain and saw the woman again. They all ran away in terror.

Then a brilliant light appeared on Mount Podbrdo, about 40 meters away, and they saw “a beautiful lady in a gray dress with a long white veil” appear at the heart of the glow.
