Initial data
An eyewitness from the city of Stolwijk (region South Holland) writes:
A long row of small lights, estimated to be 80 to 100, all of the same size. They flew through the air silently and silently.
In the opinion of ufomeldpunt.nl these are Starlink satellites.
Original news
STOLWIJK, ZH — Een lange rij van kleine lichtjes, schat zo'n 80 tot 100, allemaal even groot. Ze vlogen rustig en zonder geluid door de lucht.
Starlink satellieten
Hypotheses
Satellite
Ordinary satellites, which often look like single, not very bright luminous dots moving smoothly in the night sky, are quite often mistaken for UFOs. After the Starlink satellites (near-Earth satellite systems developed by SpaceX, in order to create a cheap and high-performance satellite Internet communication channel and technical transmitters for receiving and transmitting signals from earth and orbit) were launched, it became possible to observe groups of satellites (up to 60 pieces) flying one after another.
Investigation
According to the description, this is really similar to the Starlink satellites. According to the site findstarlink.com for 51.58° North, 4.46° East (Stolwijk):
Timings with good visibility
10:08 pm, 7 May 2021
Starlink-19, BRIGHT (2.2) for 5 mins
Look from WEST to SOUTHEAST (details)
Elevation (from horizon): start: 10°, max: 77°, end: 12°10:47 pm, 7 May 2021
Starlink-24, BRIGHT (2.3) for 5 mins
Look from SOUTHWEST to EAST (details)
Elevation (from horizon): start: 10°, max: 42°, end: 15°4:53 am, 8 May 2021
Starlink-17, BRIGHT (3.2) for 4 mins
Look from SOUTHWEST to EAST (details)
Elevation (from horizon): start: 15°, max: 34°, end: 10°Timings with poor visibility
11:44 pm, 7 May 2021
Starlink-19, DIM (4.6) for 4 mins
Look from WEST to SOUTHWEST (details)
Elevation (from horizon): start: 10°, max: 18°, end: 18°This may not be visible, based on recent user reports
12:21 am, 8 May 2021
Starlink-24, DIM (4.8) for 5 mins
Look from WEST to WEST (details)
Elevation (from horizon): start: 10°, max: 23°, end: 23°
However, the time of observation on the source site is indicated on May 8, 2021 (22: 45), but at the time of publication of the report (May 8, 2021 (6:59)) it has not yet arrived, so it is impossible to compare it with the time of the passage of the satellites to unambiguously confirm the hypothesis. It should probably not be May 8, but May 7, then "10:47 pm, 7 May 2021" and Starlink-24 are suitable.
