In 1958, a police officer from Florida encountered something similar to a strange jellyfish. A police officer named Faustin Galegos found a translucent purple spot the size of a football right outside his house.

It looked like a still-living sea jellyfish, which, theoretically, could have been dragged so far from the ocean shore by some bird. However, when the man took this "jellyfish" in his hands, it literally melted or evaporated without a trace right before his eyes.
