Frightening sounds were heard on Lake Naroch in Belarus: groans, rumbling and cracking. Even old-timers won't remember such songs. Scientists have quite an earthly interpretation, but not all locals tend to believe in the official version.

So who or what scares people on purpose?

The lake itself has become the main news-maker of recent days in the Naroch Region. Terrifying sounds, groaning and cracking seriously scared the locals. Rumors and versions: "what was it?" - one is more fantastic than the other. The locals seem to be competing: whose version will be the most unusual.

Fishermen most likely know who got started in these waters. And even a water chupacabra is unlikely to frighten extreme people who dare to go fishing ... on bicycles.

According to the results of the inspection, local beauties turned out to be mermaids – rather fat cats, lured by vacationers. Mysterious sounds also found an earthly interpretation.

A researcher at Narochansky Park agrees: the phenomenon is really unusual. Even in spring, the ice does not behave the way it does this winter. And winter is completely wrong. All this even inspires me to write a scientific paper.

Now the ice has overflowed its banks by several tens of meters. The ice drift was so powerful that it even damaged trees, piers and road signs. Unpleasant, of course, but it can be fixed. And no mysticism.
