On the afternoon of August 10, an unusual phenomenon occurred, numerous people witnessed a bright object that was seen between nine and ten in the evening almost motionless, until, it seems, it split in two and was no longer visible.
The object became visible in most of Andalusia with witnesses in the provinces of Cadiz, Huelva, Seville and Malaga.
The video was recorded in El Puerto de Santa Maria.
Many of us then thought that we were witnessing a UFO phenomenon, causing a small "alarm" with a lot of calls to newspapers, etc. However, the next day reality hit us in the face: the local press settled the case, stating that it was a weather balloon, almost without going into details and downplaying the possible significance of the case.
However, those of us who were children at that time preferred to stay in those moments when it seemed to us that we could witness our first (and, of course, the last) UFO sightings in our lives.

La tarde del 10 de Agosto se produjo un fenómeno insólito, numerosas personas fueron testigos de un objeto brillante, y que fue visto entre las nueve y las diez de la noche, practicamente inmóvil, hasta cuando parece que se dividió en dos y dejó de verse.
El objeto llegó a ser visible en gran parte de Andalucía, con testigos en las provincias de Cádiz, Huelva, Sevilla y Málaga.
Muchos pensamos entonces de estábamos presenciando un fenómeno OVNI, provocando una pequeña «alarma» con multitud de llamadas a periódicos, etc. Sin embargo al día siguiente la realidad nos daba en la cara: la prensa local zanjaba el asunto indicando que se trataba de un globo meteorológico, sin apenas profundizar en los detalles, y restando toda posible importancia al asunto.
No obstante quienes por entonces eramos unos chavales preferimos con quedarnos con esos momentos en que llegamos a pensar que podíamos haber sido testigos de nuestro primer (y seguramente el último) avistamiento OVNI de nuestras vidas.
