"The Eye of the Mind" (English: "Mind's Eye") is the sixteenth episode of the fifth season of the TV series "The X – Files". The episode belongs to the "monster of the week" type and has nothing to do with the main "mythology" of the series, set in the first series.
Mulder and Scully investigate the murder of a drug dealer, which was allegedly committed by a woman who was blind from birth. She refuses to cooperate with the investigation, demonstrating pride and self-confidence. She is visited by visions in which the picture of the murder unfolds. It is obvious that the woman has some kind of mental connection with the criminal.

The main character of the episode is blind from birth. Blindness is caused by intrauterine trauma: a pregnant mother was attacked with a knife by her father, and she died from blood loss. Doctors saved a child-a girl who lost her sight from the experience, but acquired the ability to see through the eyes of her father, a recidivist criminal.
All her life, the girl sees images of how her father is in prison, but for a long time her consciousness has learned to block them. After his release, the images change, and she begins to see them consciously. The images disappear when the father dies.
