Astronomers claim that intriguing and mysterious observations UFOs can be "celestial bodies".

A terrible incident occurred in 1995, when two American pilots were flying from Dallas, Texas, to Las Vegas, when they claimed to have encountered a UFO.

New analysis and investigation of the mystery indicate that the discovery may be related to extraterrestrial space life.

Captain Eugene Tollefson was with his co-pilot John Waller when a flight attendant saw something strange in the sky. Although there was no interaction between the plane and the UFO, the crew reported seeing strange lights in the distance.

The pilot reported the strange object to the air traffic control service in New Mexico, and in an exchange of transcripts, he said:

"The departure is at three o'clock, there are several strobe lights flickering. Could you tell us what it is?"

When asked what he could see, the co-pilot replied:

"There's a flash and a beginning... um, counterclockwise, and uh... the length is just incredible."

Since the radar systems did not detect the mysterious plane, the air traffic control service decided to check if there were any military aircraft in the sky, and contacted the control tower at a nearby Air Force base.

The air traffic control service responded:

"Flight 564... we contacted Cannon and they don't have weather balloons or anything today. No one knows about it. Do you still see it?"

Despite the fact that the incident remains a mystery, astronomers have tried to explain what the pilots saw in the 2015 Smithsonian Channel documentary "Declassified UFOs: An Eyewitness Pilot." In it , the leading astronomer of the SETI Institute , Seth Shostak , said:

"Things that can fool even, I think, trained pilots are, for example, bright planets."

The narrator explained that it could have been "celestial bodies" that played a role in the strange experience of America West Flight 564:

"From an altitude of 30,000 feet, it may seem that a distant planet or star is flashing, creating the illusion of a UFO."

Professor of Astronomy at York University in Toronto, Dr. Michael De Robertis, added:

"Some of the brightest stars can create the illusion of a stroboscopic effect, that they change brightness very quickly."
