When the international space station flew over India, one of the astronauts captured from orbit mount Kanchenjunga, surrounded by the peaks, lit by the setting sun. When the light is low, the atmosphere scatters the sun's light closer to the red end of the visible spectrum.

Kanchenjunga towering more than 8500 meters above sea level and is part of the mountain massif in the Himalayas, located in the Eastern part of Nepal near the border with India, about 120 km from mount Everest. The third highest peak of Land surrounded by valley glaciers, some of which, for example, Yalung, discernible in the shadows in this picture. Beyond the reach of sunlight over the low-lying parts of the valley gathered a group of clouds.
