In Wisconsin, a strong lightning strike instantly "cut down" a tree

In the central part of the US state of Wisconsin, a thunderstorm passed, during which a lightning bolt knocked down a large tree that grew in the school yard of the city of Wautoma. The incident occurred on the morning of Thursday, April 8, when the students were in class, according to WBAY.

Fortunately, none of the students and staff of the school were injured, the building was not affected. The flash of lightning and the fall of the tree were recorded by surveillance cameras.

Children and teachers were shocked that such a rare and dangerous event happened just a few steps away from them.

Meteorologists reminded residents of the state that lightning can be deadly. Each thunderstorm produces discharges, from which an average of 93 people die in the United States every year, and about 300 are injured.
