Version type

Vampirov are found in tropical and subtropical areas of the Americas from Northern Mexico to the Central regions of Uruguay, Chile, Argentina and on the island of Trinidad.

Vampirov exclusively feed on fresh blood of mammals and birds, and occasionally attack sleeping people. The vampires quickly and deftly crawl; even able to run at speeds of up to 1.2 m/s. using the infrared receptor vampire finds a patch of skin, slightly covered with hair or feathers: the ears of mammals, the comb in chickens, the withers of horses, etc. Then its sharp teeth bites through the skin; the vampire bite is almost painless and usually doesn't bother a sleeping animal. Usually the wound from the bite is 5-10 mm long and 1-5 mm deep. The saliva of vampires contains anesthetic and antikoagulyaie enzymes (including draculin glycoprotein), which numb the bite and prevent blood clotting. From the wound left by a vampire, blood can flow, without stopping, for several hours (up to 8 h), although the vampire usually eats no more than 20-30 minutes. During this time he has a drink 20-40 ml of blood.

Attack these living beings are considered to be the source of legends about the creature.
