Ghost hunter Xavier Hunter, 38, videoed himself exploring the bowels of the retired Queen Mary ocean liner when creepy incidents started to occur.

The footage shows Xavier looking around the engine rooms of the British ship but, for a split-second, something seems to appear behind him.

Slow-motion footage then shows what seems to be a man dressed in plain clothing staring directly at the ghost hunter.

Xavier, from Las Vegas, Nevada, US, claims he felt the temperature drop and a “cold shiver” run down his spine before the spooky apparition was seen.

But things got even scarier moments later.

The paranormal investigator is seen entering through a door marked “emergency exit”.

In the distance, a young girl’s voice seems to be singing a nursery rhyme.

Xavier now claims the two experiences are among the best he’s ever caught on camera.

“As a paranormal investigator this is the type of footage we dream of catching when we explore these haunted locations,” he said.

“The figure of the apparition is interesting because it almost looks like a man in modern clothing wearing a T-shirt and brown pants or shorts - except where the legs are supposed to be there is nothing there.

“The figure almost looks transparent. The creepy part is that it seems to be looking directly at me.”

To make it even scarier, the ghost fanatic is certain he was the only person in the engine room.

He also revealed how he had heard stories of a little girl named Jackie who drowned in the second class pool.
