El capitán Vicente López Buono, al mando de un vuelo de la aerolínea (indicativo PP-DHU) entre Belo horizonte y Uberaba (Brasil), el 9 de agosto de 1971 a las 9:00 a.m., informó que su avión siguió durante 20 minutos a 2.400 metros (7.920 pies) un disco naranja brillante ("como dos piscinas redondas, una encima de la otra") sobre un terreno montañoso.
El sargento Falcao, el despachador del aeropuerto de Uberaba, le sugirió que investigara las instalaciones.
Cuando el piloto intentó acercarse, el objeto mantuvo una distancia constante, luego aumentó repentinamente la velocidad y desapareció.
El incidente ocurrió entre las ciudades de Pratiña y Sacramento, en la región de minas Gerais. López Buono, piloto durante 24 años, dijo:

The sighting occurred between the cities of Pratinha and Sacramento in the Minas Gerais region. Lopes Buono, a pilot for 24 years, said “I never saw anything like it in my entire career as a pilot.” He gave a statement to Sgt. Silvio Motta, commander of the Brazilian Air Force unit in Uberaba.14
