Helen, de 14 años, montaba una moto de nieve familiar cerca de Mcwaters con sus 2 hermanos y 7 amigos adolescentes (todos en motos de nieve) cuando un "faro" gigante se levantó detrás de ellos y voló sobre el grupo, iluminando todo el paisaje.
Después de que se fue, todos los niños "se pusieron a correr", dejando atrás a Helen. Una fuente de luz brillante apareció de nuevo y voló sobre ella de nuevo. Ella lo estimó como 60 pies (18,2 m) de diámetro. De repente, su luz se apagó. Helen pensó que debía ser un avión que se estrelló en algún lugar detrás de ella.
Se dio la vuelta y retrocedió unos 500 pies (152,4 m), luego salió y caminó hacia una gran masa oscura que creía que podía ver entre los árboles. Vio a la criatura de aproximadamente 45 pulgadas (114,3 cm) de altura, vestida con ropa oscura y ajustada con una superficie "galvánica" y con un casco que cubría su cabeza hasta la barbilla. Alrededor de su cara, el borde de la "visera" reflejaba la luz, y sus enormes ojos también brillaban intensamente en la luz, como un gato. Avanzó con dificultad, posiblemente debido a la nieve.
Horrorizada, Helen dejó caer la linterna, corrió hacia la moto de nieve y corrió en ella. A ella se unieron otras motos de nieve que regresaban.
Su brazo izquierdo estaba paralizado. Fue llevada al médico de Ruin, quien le dio un sedante. Al día siguiente, varias personas fueron al lugar donde encontraron un gran trozo de nieve derretida hasta el Suelo, de 50 pies (15,2 m) de diámetro y con forma de rosquilla.
Junto a él había huellas de dos pequeños bípedos, a pocos metros de distancia. Las huellas eran cortas y anchas con un gran dedo sobresaliendo.

Summary: Helene, 14, was driving the family snowmobile near McWaters, with her 2 brothers and 7 teen aged friends, all on snowmobiles, when a giant “headlight” rose from behind them and passed over the group, illuminating the whole landscape. After it had gone, all the boys went off on a race, leaving Helene behind. The brilliant light source reappeared and flew back over her; she estimated it as 60 ft in diameter. Suddenly its light went out. Helen thought it must be a plane that had crashed somewhere behind her. She turned around and went back about 500 ft, then got off and walked toward a very large dark bulk which she thought she could make out among the trees. She was within perhaps 50 ft of it when a small, cold hand coming from over her shoulder seized her by the chin and tried to drag her backwards. Thinking it must be her younger brother playing a joke, she broke free and pushed her attacker back so that he fell sitting into the snow. Turning to face him, she realized that it was a childlike figure smaller than her 13-year old brother. She ran back to the snowmobile and got a flashlight, turning it on the person, who was now slowly walking toward her. She saw a being about 45″ tall, clad in dark, close fitting clothing with a “plated” surface, and wearing a helmet that covered his head down to the chin. Around his face the rim of a “visor”, reflected the light, and his enormous eyes also shone brightly in the light, like those of a cat. He was advancing with difficulty, perhaps because of the snow. Terrified, Helene dropped the flashlight, ran to the snowmobile, and fled on it. She was joined by the other snowmobiles, which were returning. Her left arm was paralyzed. She was taken to a doctor at Rouyn, who gave her a sedative. The next day several people went to the place, where they found a large patch of snow melted down to the ground, 50ft in diameter and shaped like a donut. Beside it were the tracks of 2 small bipeds, a few yards away from each other; the tracks were short and broad with a large protruding great toe.
