10 de julio de 2002 Ubicación: Sudbury, Ontario.
Mientras esperaba el autobús en mi camino al trabajo, miré hacia el cielo azul claro y noté que primero vi una gaviota flotando en las corrientes termales sobre el centro de Sudbury, junto con otras aves. Cuando esta cosa hizo un pequeño giro, parecía cambiar de forma y convertirse en una mancha blanca, algo redonda pero con bordes irregulares, como si estuvieras mirando la base de un objeto algo redondo.
Se dirigía hacia el este hacia New Sudbury, y mientras continuaba observándolo, parecía un ala voladora gris muy oscura o una pieza plana de metal. Mirándolo desde atrás, parecía haber un tinte rojo en su parte posterior, seguido de una luz muy brillante a medida que el Sol se reflejaba en la superficie izquierda. Miré el reloj que mostraba 10: 15.
Si tengo razón, esta cosa tardó entre un minuto y medio y dos minutos en cubrir esa distancia. Puede haber sido ultraligero, pero no vi nada (la cabina) colgando de ese "ala". Una vez que llego al trabajo, llamo a la sala de control del aeropuerto de Sudbury para informarles sobre esto y preguntar si tienen algún vuelo que llegue en ese momento. Todo lo que dijeron es que no necesariamente obtienen planes de vuelo de aquellos que vuelan aviones ultraligeros ... lo que yo sabía. Tengo buena visión ... Sé que vi algo extraño. Los binoculares serían útiles para" traer " un objeto, pero mis 7 x 35 son demasiado voluminosos para usarlos todo el tiempo, así que compré un par pequeño y compacto que llevaría conmigo ... bueno, al menos cuando voy a trabajar.
ADICIÓN:
El jueves 5 de septiembre, alrededor de las 7:40 P. m., mientras esperaba que mi autobús se dirigiera a casa, un planeador ultraligero voló sobre mi cabeza a una altura de aproximadamente 600 pies. Lo vi girar por encima del estacionamiento del centro comercial New Sudbury, dirigiéndose hacia el sureste hasta que quedó fuera de la vista. A esa distancia, no parecía un objeto desconocido que noté el 10 de julio. Esto confirmó el hecho de que el objeto que vi no podía ser un avión ultraligero ... ¿Cuál sería la única explicación lógica para esto si el objeto fuera un avión normal?

July 10, 2002: Daytime sighting. Location: Sudbury, Ontario. While waiting for the bus on my way to work, I was looking up at the clear blue sky and I noticed what first looked to be a seagull riding the thermals above downtown Sudbury, along with other birds. As this thing made a slight turn, it seemed to change shape and became a white smudge -- sort of circular but with an irregular edge -- just like looking at the bottom of a somewhat round object. It headed to the east towards New Sudbury, and as I kept watching it, it then looked like a very dark grey flying wing or flat piece of metal. Looking at it from behind, there seemed to be a red tinge on its rear, followed by a very bright glare as the Sun reflected on the left-hand surface. I looked at my watch which indicated 10:15 a.m. If I'm right, it took this thing about a minute and a half to two minutes to travel that distance. Now, it might have been an ultra-light, but I could not see anything (the cockpit) hanging from this "wing". Once I got to work, I phone the control tower at the Sudbury airport to tell them about this and ask them if they had any incoming flights for that time. All they said was that they don't necessarily get flight plans from anyone flying ultra-lights...which I knew. My eyesight is good...I know I saw something weird. Binoculars would have been helpful in "bringing in" the object, but my 7 x 35's are too bulky to carry around all the time, so I bought a small compact pair which I will carry with me...well, at least when I go to work.
ADDENDUM: On Thursday, September 5, at around 7:40 p.m. while waiting for my bus to go home, an ultralight glider flew over my head at approximately 600 feet. I watched it as it veered high above the New Sudbury shopping centre parking lot, heading south-east, until it went out of sight. At that distance, it looked nothing like the unknown object I spotted on July 10. This confirmed the fact that the object I had seen could not have been an ultralight aircraft...which would have been the only logical explanation for it, had the object been a conventional aircraft.
