Varios miembros de la familia estaban en el techo de la casa para pasar otra noche protegiendo la granja cuando vieron ojos rojos y brillantes en la franja forestal detrás de la casa. Otros vieron una figura luminosa emerger del bosque al otro lado del campo.
Tres miembros de la familia le dispararon, golpeándolo, aparentemente cayó en la hierba alta. Los testigos corrieron a la zona y encontraron hierba rota y otro camino que conducía hacia un lado, como si algo se hubiera arrastrado al bosque.
Pronto, una piedra salió del bosque y aterrizó, volando sobre sus cabezas por miembros de la familia. Se observaron más ojos rojos brillantes que se movían a lo largo de la línea del bosque. Luego, todos corrieron de regreso a la casa, ya que resultó que la acción se acercaba a la casa.
Vieron más ojos rojos y brillantes mirándolos desde el bosque y, a veces, vieron una forma con un brillo blanco a su alrededor como si estuviera iluminada.
En un momento dado, los testigos vieron a una criatura de 12 pies de altura (3,6 m) con ojos rojos y ardientes, de pie junto al tronco de un árbol muerto. Le dispararon sin efecto aparente. Las criaturas y los ojos rojos y brillantes estaban aquí hasta el amanecer.

Several family members were up on the roof of the house for another night of guarding the farm when they saw red glowing eyes out in the wood line in the back of the house. Others saw a glowing form step out of the wood line on the other side of the field. Three family members fired upon it, hitting it, it apparently fell down into the high grass area. The witnesses ran to the area, and found grass smashed down, and another path leading away, as if something had dragged itself away into the woods. Investigators then three stones into the wood line and soon a rock came flying out of the woods and over their heads landing by the family members. More red glowing eyes were observed moving along the wood line. They all then ran back to the house, as it appeared that the activity was moving close to the house. They saw more red glowing eyes peering out at them from the woods and sometimes they saw a form with a white glow around it as if was illuminated. At one point the witnesses saw a 12-foot tall creature with red glowing eyes standing by a dead tree trunk. They fired at it without any apparent effect. The creatures and red glowing eyes were in the area until about daybreak.
