El químico Leonardo, que vive en Codroipo, regresaba de Palmanova. en Codroipo a altas horas de la noche, cuando llegó a la nueva rotonda de Mortellano. Varios coches estaban estacionados allí.
El joven salió del auto y vio a una extraña criatura caminando por la carretera. La criatura era muy alta, tal vez unos cuatro metros de altura (11 pies o 3,3 m). El testigo agarró la linterna y la apuntó a la criatura, vio la espalda de la criatura y notó en la parte posterior de sus piernas algo que se parecía a una "maraña de tendones". Su cabeza tenía forma redondeada y forma de cono en la parte superior.
Intentó llamar a su Teléfono celular y tomar una foto, pero fue inútil. La criatura caminaba por la calle sin prestar atención a los autos. Un testigo vio un coche con la familia en el que la madre trató de ocultar a la criatura a sus dos hijos.
Finalmente, la criatura desapareció en la oscuridad.
