Putting the first element of the ISS into orbit

The International Space Station (ISS) is a manned orbital station used as a multi-purpose space research complex; it has been in operation since the end of 1998 to the present.

November 20, 1998 Russia has put the first element of the ISS into orbit — the Zarya functional cargo unit. The launch was carried out with the help of a Proton-K rocket (FGB).
