Samuel Faria, 27, was walking home from the center of Vila Velha when he saw a "small man" no more than 3 feet 3 inches (99 cm) tall on the corner, dressed in "astronaut-type"clothing.
Faria came within 30 feet (9 m) of him.Then the little man pointed a tool-like flashlight at him and shot a beam of light into his eyes, which temporarily blinded him.
Blinded, Faria ran to his uncle's house, just 60 feet (18 m) away, and managed to reach it. The little man did not wear a helmet and had muscular arms.
In February 1973, Faria saw a glowing UFO in the shape of a ring, hovering low over the garden of his uncle, and on March 11 of the same year, returning from a bath in the garden, he was grabbed by something that left "claw marks" on his shoulders and these marks remained for 8 months.
