The pair of students were located near the Portland state College campus, not far from the old tunnel system that runs down from the hills.
They heard a noise coming from the sewer pit and saw them describe a "mole man" coming out of the pit.
It wasn't hairy, it had big eyes, fangs, a long snout, three claws instead of paws, but they were round and didn't seem to be worn out. It also had a small hairy tail.
Both students had the feeling that this thing knew them psychically and that it had its own consciousness. He ran back into the pit when the stones were thrown at him.
