Initial data
Jackie Jones, Dave and son Jason were about to retire for the night when they suddenly heard an unusual sound coming from the boat dock. The noise was a mixture of the roar of a lion and an elephant.
Jackie turned on the external light that connected to the dock when they saw the outline of something moving in the seaweed.
The creature was estimated to be about 300 pounds (90 m) wide, 2-3 feet (0.6-0.9 m) wide, 5 feet (1.5 m) tall, and appeared to have a flat face. However, no eyes, ears, or muzzle were visible, possibly because of the darkness.
Witnesses said the creature tried to yank their trailer home, as if trying to push it. Then Dave decided to go and investigate. When the creature approached him, he got scared and shot the creature with a shotgun.
Then the creature jumped back into the river and swam quietly East. (Obviously, the shotgun had no effect on the creature, as it was seen again the next day.)

Summary: Jackie Jones, Dave, and son Jason were ready to retire for the night when they suddenly heard an unusual sound coming from the boat dock. The noise sounded like a combination of a lion and elephant roar. Jackie turned on the outside light, which connected to the boat dock when they saw the outline of something moving in the weeds. The creature was estimated to have been 2-3 feet wide, around 300 pounds, 5 feet in height and seemed to have a flat face. However, no eyes, ears, or snout could be seen, possibly due to the darkness. The witnesses said the creature tried to jerk their trailer home around, as if trying to push it over. Dave then decided to go out and investigate. When the creature advanced toward him, he became frightened and shot at the creature with his shotgun. The creature then appeared to jump back into the river and quietly swim towards the east. (Apparently the shotgun did not have any effect on the creature, since it was seen again the next day.)
