The two women were driving along a country road north of Kokomo, overgrown with thick, tall bushes. Suddenly one of the witnesses realized that her friend's face was distorted with fear, and she fell silent.
She just pointed out the window in front of the car. At this point, the car's engine turned off and the car was coasting with very dim headlights.
On both sides of the road was a line in which there were creatures with only their heads and shoulders visible above the 10-foot (3 m) bushes. They didn't have any special features. They did not emit light to illuminate the darkness around them. They were very tall above the bushes, had very broad shoulders, and their heads and shoulders were much larger than a human's.
The stunned witness immediately said:
"They want to communicate. I'm stopping."
But her friend went into a frenzied tantrum at the comment, and they moved on. The car's engine started again as they passed the creatures by inertia.
The creatures lined the road on either side for about 50 feet (15 m) or more. One of the women locked herself in her room for two days and did not speak to anyone after the incident.

They did not emit light to illuminate the darkness around them. They were very tall above the bushes and had very wide shoulders and the heads and shoulders were much larger than a human’s. Stunned the witness immediately said, “They want to communicate. I am stopping.” But her friend became violently hysterical at that comment, so they coasted on. The car engine started again once they coasted by the beings. The beings had lined the road on both sides for about 50 ft, or more. One of the women locked herself up in her room for two days and would not talk to anyone after the incident.
