Bow hunter Juan Maestas was quietly chasing a herd of young elk up a mountain in a wooded area when he heard a branch snap to his left and froze in place. He turned his eyes to look at the source of the noise, and was stunned to see "an ugly fat guy about three feet (0.9 m) tall", who at the same moment turned around and stared at him.
The little man was about 50 feet (15 m) away, next to a tall pine tree. When their eyes met, Maestas could make out the little man's wrinkled forehead, clean-shaven face, and rosy skin. He was wearing a green jumpsuit with suspenders and a floppy flat-topped hat. His hair was reddish and stuck out from under his cap. He had small eyes that looked red and bloodshot. The little man seemed to smile at Maestas, and suddenly darted behind a tree.
Maestas quickly ran to the spot, but the little man had completely disappeared.
Two weeks earlier, very close to the same spot, a family of five on a picnic witnessed the same or very similar creature, which was also wearing a green jumpsuit and hat.

The little man was about 50 feet away next to a tall pine tree. As they locked eyes, Maestas was able to discern the little man’s wrinkled forehead, clean-shaven face, and pink hued skin. He was wearing what appeared to be green overalls with suspenders and a flat-topped floppy hat. His hair was reddish, and was sticking out from underneath the cap. He had little eyes that seemed red and bloodshot. The little man sort of gave Maestas a smile and suddenly darted behind a tree. Maestas quickly ran to the spot but the little man had totally disappeared. Two weeks earlier, very close to this same location, a family of five on a picnic had witnessed the same or very similar entity that was also dressed in green overalls and hat.
