Sergey Kazakov met with the unknown creature twice.

Case one.  After graduating from the seventh grade in 1989, my cousin Mikhail and I were sent to the Lisa Chaikina pioneer camp near Leninogorsk, located in a pine forest. At the end of the season, 20 people from the two senior teams were chosen for a hike with a guide along the Chernushka River, past the Moonstone to the waterfall and to Ivanovskie Belki with an overnight stay. We spent two days preparing, listening to various instructions about the rules of behavior.

On the morning of June 24, with our backpacks on our backs, we went hiking. The path to the waterfall went through a gorge, the path wound from one bank of the river to the other. We made our first stop at the waterfall. The forest, mostly fir, has thinned considerably. The most difficult part of the route began. We went up the steep slope, in spurts for half a kilometer. The guide in front blew a bugle, and everyone sat down to rest. Then we crossed a field of snow and came out on a high plateau. We rested, drew water from a spring that gushed out from under a large black rock, and began to choose a place to camp. The boys went to gather dried wood for the fire. Cedars grew at this height, and there were plenty of dry branches under them. We piled the wood in a pyramid, pitched our tents, and sat down to dinner. After lunch, everyone wandered off. Cameras were still a rarity for us then, and we just admired nature and beautiful mountain flowers.

In the evening, everyone gathered around a campfire, which was dug in around the perimeter according to all fire safety rules and with three buckets of water next to it. What could be more beautiful than the flames when you have friends with you and your whole life ahead of you? We sat around the fire, sang a few songs, and the counselors gave the command to extinguish the fire and get ready for bed. The noisy crowd headed for the tents. It was dark, but I didn't want to sleep, and Mikhail and I quietly left the tent, walked a hundred meters away and stopped in the grass at the very edge of the fog strip. Suddenly his face fell. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw movement to my left and turned my head.

About fifteen meters away, a dark-furred humanoid figure, only very tall and slightly stooped, was moving slowly and absolutely noiselessly, its head bent down. We stood frozen and motionless, while the strange creature, without looking at us, retreated into the fog. We silently exchanged glances with Mikhail and rushed into the tent. Our words that we had just seen Bigfoot were met with laughter. Then I had my first encounter with the mysterious creature.
