Land creatures. Vietnam

Lao hairy forest people. They are called "thak-the— - "forest people". And, as they say, they live on the slopes of the Cheongshon Ridge in Middle and Lower Laos. We saw them in Vietnam.

Wilfred Burchett, Australian journalist:

"My guide told me that one day in 1949 he saw a group of humanoid creatures in the mountains of Nguyen. One such male creature was caught. The body of this creature was covered with thick black hair; he made chirping sounds that did not resemble human speech, ate only raw meat, river crabs and palm leaves, was very afraid of people. They decided to let him go, but he died unexpectedly.",

Khamphas Fonekeo, Lao ethnographer:

"In the south, in the Sarawan region, where I often visit, locals say that in the jungle you can come across "forest people— - "thak-the". I do not see anything incredible in these reports, because in remote areas of our country there are many tribes living in complete isolation from the outside world in a primitive society.

As for the "thak-the", they, as far as I know, cannot speak and echo each other in inarticulate sounds. Their body is covered with hair. The growth is small: about like a ten- to twelve-year-old teenager. They like to feast on river crabs. People are studiously avoided. They roam in very small groups, and in general their numbers, apparently, are extremely small…

According to eyewitness accounts, the thak-the habitat area covers the mountainous area south of the Boloven Plateau."

Chounlaman Utama, Laotian peasant:

"These creatures are found occasionally in the jungle south of the Boloven Plateau. They don't have articulate speech. They talk shouting. The body is covered with hair. Small growth. Most often they are seen near reservoirs and streams."
