Chupacabra. Ukraine

The Chupacabra terrorizes the Carpathian region. Curses of the Maya homeland continue to spread around the world. Before we had time to come to our senses after the "end of the world", a chupacabra appeared in Ukraine — a mythical creature native to South America.

If anyone doesn't happen to know, the chupacabra is a four-legged, fanged creature, a cross between a dog (or coyote) and a pig, originally from Puerto Rico. The Chupacabra preys on livestock and sucks the blood out of it. A kind of vampire in the animal world. This vampire is not recognized by official zoology, as well as Nessie and Bigfoot. But this does not prevent him from committing his crimes at all.

Over the past six months, a dozen attacks on pets have already been committed. The hunting area of the mysterious beast became Kiev, Lviv, Khmelnytsky, Ternopil and Chernihiv regions.

This time, the ghoul monster was spotted in the Carpathian mountains in the mountain village of Golyn, where one-year-old rabbits, carefully protected by their owners, fell victim to it. The Parashchak family has been breeding rabbits for several years, but this happened on their farm for the first time. According to the stories of the owner of the farm Lesya Parashchak, an unknown animal literally chewed out the locks in the cages and drained all the rabbits. The most amazing and frightening thing is that the carcasses of the animals remained absolutely untouched. That is, the attack would hardly have been committed by a fox or a wolf.

The owner's dog, a huge Caucasian shepherd dog Lime, who had been serving regularly for seven years before, did not even wake up during a night attack on rabbits, although foxes and wolves often came into her paws before that. Lyme knew the smell of forest predators well and always started barking loudly at their slightest approach. However, that night the shepherd "kept silent" and missed the killer.

Zoologist Dmitry Isonkin tried to explain to the Voice of Russia why the existence of the chupacabra is just one of the urban legends, and who could actually bleed the animals in Ukraine:

"Of course, all these creepy stories about animals deprived of blood by a mysterious chupacabra are nothing more than far-fetched stories, sometimes, let's be honest, not very educated people. Villagers are ready to call "chupacabra" any bald dog or sick wolf that attacked their pets. Moreover, no one has seen this miracle beast near, and everyone who "saw" often does not agree in their testimony.

Usually, animals can be attacked in this way by individuals with rabies, especially during the period of hydrophobia. At this stage of the disease, sensitivity to sensory stimuli increases sharply — bright light, various sounds (animals could be attracted by noise from cells) and intense thirst. Sick animals become aggressive, they can hallucinate. That is, to attack — they will attack, but the carcasses will just be left untouched."

It is difficult to judge whether this is true or not. Attacks by "animal vampires" have indeed become more frequent simultaneously with a significant increase in the number of rabies outbreaks in Ukraine. There is no reliable scientific information confirming the existence of the chupacabra. And many eyewitness reports that "there were no signs of a struggle", "the blood was drunk to the last drop", in fact turned out to be untrue. Nevertheless, research is being conducted in scientific institutions in some countries on the basis of obtained traces left presumably by this creature.
