On April 15, a meteor shower called Lyrides will begin in the sky above the Earth — one of the most beautiful starfalls of this year, according to the American Meteor Community.

The meteor shower will peak on the night of April 21-22. These meteors are best seen in the northern hemisphere, where the radiant is high in the sky at dawn. The starfall will last until April 29.

Astronomers advise to watch the meteor shower by leaving a large city in the wee hours, so that the Moon does not interfere.

The first mention of the Lyrid stream dates back to 687 BC.
