September 12 at 7:35 GMT the Russian upper stage "breeze-M" successfully completed the program launch of the spacecraft "SP-5" transition to geosynchronous orbit. The separation of the satellite from the upper stage occurred after 9 hours and 12 minutes after the launch.

Satellite telecommunications purposes "SP-5" manufactured by Space Systems Loral for the Hispasat order. The spacecraft is designed for providing services in the field of television, corporate networks and telephone communications on the territory of South and Central America.

The estimated service time of machine is 15 years. Hispasat already resorted to the services of ILS: in August 2004, proton has delivered into orbit the first satellite of the series Amazonas.
