The energy engineer Shimas Almredas Ivanovich writes to the Commission on AYA:
A former employee told me. On a cloudy and slightly foggy April day in 1977 (visibility is about 0.5 km), he, as part of a team of 3 people, checked the insulation of electrical equipment at an electrical substation of 110 sq. Karensk in the Akmyansky district of Lit SSR. The day was quiet, the noise of the cement plant, which is about 1 km away, almost did not resemble. A friend worked bending over measuring instruments, and carried out measurements. At this time, a noise like the noise of an airplane appeared from above, but for one thing and something is not similar. The comrade straightened up and looked up - he saw 2 rather strong lights (the colors of electric welding) making their way through the fog, which were walking side by side at high speed. Soon the left of them made the indicated maneuver in the drawing. A comrade shouted to the others, and another member of the brigade managed to see, but only at the very end, before they disappeared far away in the fog. the comrade claims that the visible angle, that he saw the lights for no more than 2-3 seconds and during this time they (the left with the maneuver) flew an apparent angle of at least 90 degrees, i.e. the angular velocity was about 30 degrees per second. the direction of flight is approximately from 90 degrees to 270 degrees in azimuth.
