The formation was heading North-West to Medford, just to the East of the observers. There were nine objects. According to one witness, when they first saw the objects were "as white as geese", but the closer they became blue-white, "as the light of fluorescent lamps".
They were sharply outlined and seemed solid. They felt like "translucent like a frosted bulb". The size of individual items was estimated at more than twice the diameter of the full moon at the moment when the objects were closest to the witness (although the point of this comparison is not specified uniquely).
