Initial data
Jan-Ivar Mellingen and his friend John-Arne Thomassen first noticed the glowing white point of light above the hill. The light moved to the North without a sound. Then he was gone.
While they were discussing the observation, another light of the same kind appeared and followed the same route. It's all gone within 10 minutes, from 19:40 to 19:50.
They both went to another observation point.
20: 10 they noticed a glowing white object, slightly brighter than the stars. He traveled West with a constant
speed until, until it changed direction to the North, then he turned to the monitors and
it seemed to have accelerated. The light turned red and yellow. He walked behind low clouds, and when he appeared again, was more dark red and disappeared.
Three photos were taken when the object was removed, but nothing can be seen due to improper exposure.

Original news
1 April 1973, 20:10 – Holmestrand Jan-Ivar Mellingen and a friend, John-Arne Thomassen, first observed a luminous white point of light over a hill in the SE. The light was moving north without any sound and it disappeared. While they were discussing their observation, another light of the same appearance appeared and followed the same course. All this elapsed within 10 minutes, from 19:40 to 19:50. They both drove to another vantage point. At 20:10 they spotted in the NNE a luminous, white object, a little brighter than a star. It traveled west with constant speed until it changed to the north, then it turned towards the observers and it appeared to accelerate. The light grew red and yellow. It passed behind a low formation of clouds, and when it appeared again it was more deep red, disappearing finally towards the ENE. Three photos were shot when the object was traveling away. Nothing is shown on the negatives because of wrong exposure.
