"300 meters from us, at a height of about 30-40 metres above the roofs of houses flew a strange building in the shape of a triangle, though the exact shape was not visible, but a huge impression on us two balls of glowing or simply not, which in essence, led to the idea of a triangular design monitored object... From these balls came tongues of blue flame... Balls located at an angle relative to each other; the smaller ball was in front of and above the second, large ball. They were flying parallel to the ground, from West to East. Their speed was small: for 40-45 seconds they were flying about 2 miles. The phenomenon was observed from multiple locations simultaneously five."

This is one of many recorded messages relating to surveillance 2 Dec of flight of an object over a vast territory in the South-West of the European part of the USSR, than the time reported by the newspaper "Trud". Because of the peculiarities of human perception and interpretation seen in the eyewitness reports featured stories of "a dark cigar with located on its edges with rows of lights" (Volchansk), "the missile with spherical cabin" (Kiev), etc., which is typical for observations of such phenomena.

According to the scientists, to explain the nature of observed phenomena, December 2 in the atmosphere has burned one of the artificial bodies, descended from low-earth orbit. Just know that the next day – 3 December 1983 – a similar phenomenon was observed by numerous witnesses (about 150 people) in the Voronezh region against the clear starry sky. In this case, was seen a group of 20-30 "stars" of the third or fourth magnitude, moving across the sky from East to West with a very great speed. Apparently, this is also the episode of observation the preceding day and there is also a continued convergence of the orbits of the remaining debris.
