Initial data
Richard D. Barker of the post state police Seymour reported he followed a huge ball of greenish-blue and white light about 10 miles about 2:30 am before the light moved West towards Bedford.
"He had a flat bottom, a little less of a basketball and around it revolved bright blue-green light counter-clockwise."
Barker said that was in the vicinity of Crothersville in Jackson County, when he first noticed the changing lights:
"He was, perhaps, a height of 300-500 feet (91-152 m) and had three red flashing lights", he said. "I noticed that there seemed to be about a mile, and it began to move South."
Barker said that he never lost sight of it, and it didn't leave a trail.
When he came to little York for some time he hovered, and then quickly took off:
"It was not a plane, I've never seen," he said. "I know it wasn't a plane."
