Initial data
State police officer saw a large object, slow-moving changing color from white to red and orange, while the color change was due to speed changes. Venus was visible separately at the same time.
Eight miles South of Seymour (Indiana) (35 miles East of Bedford) is another public servant had seen and reported UFOs in the area of Seymour. It was DE Swider in Crothersville.
The area and seemed somewhat similar to reports from 4 and 5 February.
About 7:50 p.m., when Swider soldier was patrolling interstate 65, 8 miles South of the headquarters of the police of Seymour, they told him about the UFO that was reported on this post.
He saw the object in the West for nearly 10 minutes before he finally disappeared in the West. He was described as a huge, round object, moving from left to right (slowly), changing color from white to red and orange. This sequence is consistent with the reduction of speed, followed by increasing the speed of the object, typical of a UFO.

Original news
Feb. 9, 1967; Seymour, IN
7:50 p.m. EST. A state policeman saw a huge object, moving slowly, changing colors from white to red to orange, the color change associated with changes of speed (color/speed correlation). Venus was visible separately at the same time. (Ridge, 1994, p. 21.)Eight miles south of Seymour, Indiana (35 miles east of Bedford) Another State Trooper to see and report a UFO in the Seymour area was D. E. Swider at Crothersville, This ended a sighting group for that area and appeared to be somewhat similar to the reports of the 4th and 5th of February. At about 7:50 PM when trooper Swidar was patrolling Interstate 65, 8 miles south of the Seymour State Police HQ, they advised him of a UFO reported to the post. He, himself, saw the object in the west for about 10 minutes before it finally went out of sight further west. It was described as a huge, round object, moving left to right (slowly) changing colors from white to red to orange. This sequence corresponded with a decrease in speed, followed by an increase in speed of the object, typical of a UFO
