Initial data
Two motorists from Adelaide reported a loss of power in their cars after seeing a UFO.
These reports were made at the same time as requests to RAAF officials regarding other sightings in the area.
One of the motorists, Peter Heningsen, described the object as "bigger than a giant jet plane" and said it hovered about 600 feet (180 m) above the road. The witness also described how the object rotated and emitted three white beams of light. His car temporarily lost power as the object hovered overhead. The UFO remained motionless for a minute, and then disappeared from view in complete silence.
Another motorist driving the same evening described the object as "green and red, rotating in three beams of light." E. o'neill, 54, from North Glenelg, said he saw an object moving in a circle at 35, 000 feet at 20:05 and claimed that all power was turned off at his car.
The Royal Australian air force is gathering as much additional information as possible regarding these sightings and will continue to investigate these recent events.
