Initial data
A hovering orange light over the city's metro train station and corresponds to the boarding gate of SP international airport. Hundreds of people saw it. The day before, the news was talking about UFOs.
I was 13 years old and played outside of Church while my parents were practicing choral music. It was dark. From the hill where the Church was located, I could see the final station of the Sao Paulo metro.
Suddenly I noticed an orange light that changed its intensity, sometimes turning red. I called my parents and other Church members who came to watch. We stayed there for 20 minutes.
The light source was exactly on the way to the final approach at Sao Paulo international airport (Congonhas). As the planes aligned with the finale, the light moved very quickly and disappeared, only to reappear as the plane flew by.
Later that evening, channel 5 (Globo TV channel») reported the incident and interviewed several eyewitnesses who reported the same story.
They also interviewed officials at the airport who reported an "unidentified object" on radar screens at the designated location. Airline pilots also reported seeing the object.
No further explanation was given, and air force officials declined to comment. The date is approximate, as I don't remember exactly when it happened. But that was about then.
