Initial data
The family of four was traveling about 30 miles from Orlando, Florida. Suddenly, they noticed that a saucer-shaped ship appeared at a very close altitude of about 1,000 yards (900 m) above their vehicle.
The driver stopped his car and opened the Windows to get a better view of the object. The object didn't make any sounds.
The driver of the car is an Amateur pilot trained to observe and report accurately. All witnesses stated that the UFO appeared to have a red dome-shaped light at the top and white window-like lights around the saucer-shaped ship.
Their CB radio broadcast only static, and because of this effect, they could neither transmit nor receive. The UFO made movements and turns that would not have been possible for ordinary ships.
The family watched the phenomenon for about thirty minutes before losing sight of the ship behind the tree line.
They went straight to the nearest town and reported the incident to the local police. The officer told witnesses that there were several other reports describing a similar vessel.

8:30 p.m. A family of four was traveling about 30 miles outside of Orlando, Florida. Suddenly they noticed a saucer-shaped craft appear at a very close altitude of approximately 1000 yards over their auto. The driver stopped his car and opened the windows to see the object more clearly. There was no sound emitting from the object. The driver of the car is an amateur pilot and is trained to observe and report accurately. All of the witnesses stated that the UFO appeared to have a dome-shaped red light on the top and white window-like lights around the saucer-shaped craft. Their CB radio broadcast nothing but static and because of this effect, they were unable to transmit or receive. The UFO was making movement and turns that would be impossible for conventional craft to perform. The family observed the phenomenon for about thirty minutes before losing sight of the craft behind the tree line. They drove directly to the nearest town and reported their experience to the local police. The officer told the witnesses that there had been several other reports describing similar craft.
