Angel Maria Tonna, a 52-year-old rancher, owns 3,000 acres of farmland 15 km (9 miles) South of Salto, Uruguay, a city of 40,000 people located on the river Uruguay. The ranch is primarily a livestock farm, and Mr. Tonna, 2 sons aged 19 and 22 and 11 workers, graze 730 head of cattle and a large number of sheep.
The Tonn family led a relatively quiet life in their rural home until February and March this year, when Tonn, two sons, Ms. Tonn, their 15-year-old daughter, and workers began observing UFOs in the area. During this time, there were about a dozen observations.
The most interesting incident occurred around 4 a.m. on February 18, when Tonn and his foreman, Juan Manuel Fernandez, drove about 80 cows into the barn for milking. When ton Gets up in the morning, the first thing he does is turn on the generator that powers about 20 lamps in the barnyard.
On the morning in question, Tonna said he was bringing the cows in at about 4:10 a.m. when all the lights went out, after which a bright light appeared at the Eastern end of the cowshed (the farthest end from it) and he could make out the shadow of the barn. Initially, Tonn thought the power outage was a short circuit and he was keeping hay in this part of the barn, so he thought it had caught fire somehow.
Ton jumped the fence and ran to the light source at the end of the barn. With him was his dog Topo (dumbass in Spanish), who was a constant companion of Tonya during walks around the ranch.
"Then I heard a noise," he said, and saw two fire plates placed face to face, hovering a short distance above the ground behind the barn.
He stood and watched the object until his foreman told him that the cows were running away, then he noticed that the cows were "going crazy" and all the dogs were barking.
At this point, the disk began to move in a southerly direction, breaking off the branches of a tree near the barn. The object swayed as it flew, stopped, and hovered over trees about 100 yards (90 m) South of the barn at an altitude of about 60 feet (18 m). It stayed there for just a moment, then moved East for another 75 yards (68.5 m) or so and stopped over a concrete bathhouse that the cows were forced to pass through to disinfect them.
By then, Tonn and his dog, a 60-pound black-and-brown police dog, had run back to the West side of the barnyard and climbed over the fence. The light from this object illuminated the entire barnyard, and Tonna said that he liked it. Ton and Topo walked a few feet toward the UFO, and it made another turn and moved toward them.
As the object began to move toward the Ton, it noticed six rays of light "like small wings" - three on each side. At this point, according to Ton, he felt an electric shock that passed through his entire body, and he was struck by a very strong fever. He covered his face with his hand to cover his eyes. He said he was attracted to the light and couldn't move.
"I don't know if I could move or didn't want to," he said.
After a few minutes, the object began to recede, changing its original bright orange color to red. It increased its speed as the color changed, and when it reached the woods about half a mile to the South, it was not visible.
When the object left, the generator started working again, but it did not produce electricity because the wires were burned. The incident lasted about 10 minutes, and ton's 19-year-old son, who is a second-year veterinary student at Salto University, witnessed the entire episode from home. Farmers usually get up at 4:30 in the morning, and those who do not sleep during this time, I saw only bright light in the barnyard.
After the incident, the dog did not eat or drink. He moved normally, but stayed in the house all day, which was unusual. On the morning of the third day after the incident, Topo was found dead on the same hill where he had been sitting and howling at the disk.
The autopsy was performed at the ranch by a veterinarian who teaches at Northern University in Salto, and was assisted by Tulio Tonna and three other second-year veterinary students. The doctor did not discuss the case, but he allowed Tulio to make a copy of the autopsy report, which, in part, stated:
"The hair along the animal's spine was sticky but firm. Fat was found on the outside under the skin. Fat is usually hard, so to get out, it had to melt and pass through the pores. As soon as it was outside, it solidified again. The animal was exposed to a very high temperature, which cannot be reached by the dog naturally.
All the blood vessels were bleeding profusely, all the capillaries were broken. The rupture of blood vessels was caused by an increase in temperature that could not have been natural.
The liver, usually dark and red, was completely yellow due to the high temperature. All the vessels were also yellow.
Due to the fact that all the blood vessels were broken, the animal started to bleed internally and lost so much blood that after 48 hours the amount of circulating blood became insufficient and he died of a heart attack.
When we skinned the dog, we didn't see any tracks. He didn't have any bruises or anything. It was concluded that something very hot was the cause of this."
The morning after the incident, Mr. ton Began to have pain on the lower side of his right hand, which he raised to cover his eyes.
A few days later, Dr. Bruning Herrera, a friend of Tonn's, and a doctor from Saito paid Tonn a personal visit. Tonna admitted that he was not feeling well, and Herrera examined him. He found that the underside of Tonya's right hand was very red, and when he learned about the UFO incident, he decided that the irritation was caused by some kind of radiation.
He suggested that Tonya get a special examination, but Tonya would have to go to Montevideo, which is 300 miles away, and he didn't want to waste time on it. Instead, he treated himself with home remedies. In the end, the injured hand was cured without any lasting effects.

Several days later, Dr. Bruning Herrera, a friend of the Tonnas, and a physician in Saito paid the Tonnas a personal visit. Tonna confided that he wasn’t feeling well and Herrera examined him. He found that the underside of Tonna’s right arm was very red and, after being told about the UFO incident, decided the irritation was caused by some kind of radiation. He suggested that Tonna go and have a special examination but Tonna would have had to go to Montevideo, 300 miles away, and he didn’t want to take the time. Instead, he treated himself with some home remedies. Eventually, the ailing arm cleared up with no lingering after-effects.
