A schoolteacher from BOLINGBROOK was woken up by a high-pitched sound "like a blender working in a drawer."
She looked at the overcast, windy, and cold weather in her residential area and saw a bright blue disk-shaped domed object land next to power lines. It took off and then landed a second time.
There were blue lights around the edge of the UFO, and it was only 50 yards (45 m) away. The blue light from the object illuminated the area as brightly as day. The street lamp went out.
The police simultaneously received reports of a power outage and the observation of blue flashes.

It lifted off and then landed a second time. The UFO had blue lights around the rim, and was only about 50 yards away. The blue light from the object illuminated the area as bright as day. A street light went out. The police received calls of power outages and blue flashes at the same time.
