An eyewitness from the town of Harmelen writes:
I was driving on the A12 motorway towards Utrecht near Harmelen.
I saw in front of me on the right side of the highway 2 lights moving at an equal distance in the direction of Meern. The lights were red / pink in color and had the shape of a star. It is as if you are looking at the light through slightly narrowed eyes, such a star shape.
The lights were not flickering, but they were constantly glowing and quite bright. They flew ahead of me from right to left. As they flew over Meern, both lights suddenly went out at the same time.
Unfortunately, there is no photo, since I was driving. Perhaps some have seen it? In any case, I wasn't the only one driving on the A12.

HARMELEN, UT — Ik reed op de snelweg A12 in de richting van Utrecht ter hoogte van Harmelen. Ik zag voor mij aan de rechterkant can de snelweg 2 lichten die op gelijke afstand van elkaar bewogen in de richting van de Meern. De lichten waren rood/roze van kleur en stervormig. Alsof je een lichtje bekijkt door een beetje samengeknepen ogen, zo'n stervorm. De lichten flikkerden niet, maar was een constant schijnsel en ook behoorlijk fel. Ze vlogen over de snelweg heen, voor mij van rechts naar links. Toen ze boven de Meern aankwamen gingen beide lichten plots uit. Beide tegelijkertijd. Helaas geen foto, aangezien ik achter het stuur zat. Wellicht hebben meerderen dit gezien? Ik was in ieder geval niet de enige die op de A12 reed.
