An unidentified clear radar signal was detected in the area of the city of Cool in the North Caucasus by Soviet military radio engineering units in the region of the mountains of the North Caucasus. The object did not respond to the confirmation signals on the radar screens and was marked as "hostile".
Air defense systems were put on alert, including anti-aircraft missile systems, as well as MIG 25 Foxbat interceptors from bases in Rostov and Krymsk and SU-15 from Sleptsovskaya station were confused with the task of identifying the object and forcing it to land, but it was not possible to intercept it.
After an unsuccessful interception, the order was given to arm and use weapons. Units on the ground were also notified.
The 481st Air Defense Missile Regiment in Ardon launched a surface-to-air missile that hit a UFO. The radar recorded the fall of the object over the Aric ridge. A search and rescue team was sent aboard the MI-8 Hip helicopter, which found the disk in a mountainous area somewhere in the area between the villages of Novoe Hamidiye and Nizhny Kurp.
It was a small disk with a bell-shaped dome, with a diameter of 6.2 to 6.9 meters and a height of about 3.5 meters. It was obvious that the surviving alien was trying to get out of the ship and opened the door from the inside, but was unable to get out due to his near-fatal injuries and general state of confusion.
