Witnesses in a car driving through Cajas Nat. Pk, 10,000 ft, suddenly saw a very bright light that flashed across the road at a height of a few yards and disappeared.
I am a 38-year-old teacher traveling with a doctor of the same age as me (a surgeon). And an Ecuadorian, I'm an American. We were driving east from the city of Cuenca to Guayaquilna and were in the middle of a very remote area, in the Andes Mountains late at night. I moved slowly.
When a bright light flashes in front of the car, like a silver stripe, the doctor was driving and shouted to me:"Did you see this"?
Since I was looking at the front windshield at the time, I said "hell yeah".
And we were yelling for his Eddie to wake up in the backseat to look, but the object was gone, so to speak, in the blink of an eye.
It wasn't high in the sky, just a few hundred yards or so away. We were both scared. Since I've seen this kind of thing before, a few times I thought I had an idea of what it was. I didn't say much because I didn't want him to think I was crazy.
I've learned to keep quiet about these things. Experienced observation as early as 1960 in the Idaho Mountains, and also in Wyoming the following year

It was not high up in the sky just a few 100 yards or so We were both frightened, As Ive see such things before a few other times I thought I had an idea of what it was. I said little as didn’t want him to think I was nuts. I’ve learned to keep my mouth closed about such things. Having experienced a sighting as far back as 1960 in the mts of Idaho and also Wyoming in another year
