Some observed a cylindrical, distinctly metallic, gleaming aluminum-like, somewhat rounded object hovering on nearby hills, moving in a pendulum-like field of view, over the top of the hill, no more than 2,000 feet high. It suddenly disappeared with a very fast vertical movement, with no sound being heard.
About one or two in the evening, in broad daylight, without clouds, the object was seen hovering near the mountains, not from above, but in front, and then behind the top, especially strange movements, like pendulums, fast, and then slow.
A cylindrical shape, clearly metallic and shiny like polished aluminum, with no lights, is perceived as some kind of rounded shape in the middle, possibly ring shapes at the top and bottom, probably a significant object about 20 feet long and 6 feet wide. No balloon, no airplane, no other object in the sky.
Observed in rural Peru. The object is clearly visible ahead against the background of the mountain, no sound is heard. The object seems to have disappeared, but the witnesses noticed a very rapid movement up, in a northerly direction.
The event happened when I was 12 or 13 years old, in 1966 or 1967, maybe thirty years ago. I just want to know if there is a similar object or similar observation in your archives or databases.
It was not only real, but also a vivid image that I had been thinking about for 30 years. I don't want an explanation, I don't believe in UFOs, but I saw what I saw, no one really believes it, but for me it's not a matter of faith, it's just something I saw as a child and I can't find any explanation for it.
