UFO in the shape of a triangle with many lights over the Caribbean Ocean, a view from a cruise ship. The following is an account of a real-life UFO sighting from the balcony of a cruise ship in the Caribbean in 2002. I'm not sure why I waited so long to file this report, but I was once an ardent skeptic of most UFO stories, all changed on a late summer night in the Atlantic Ocean.

So, although I'm late, here's my story:

On August 27, 2002, while traveling aboard the Carnival Pride liner, I awoke from a deep sleep to find myself sitting oddly on the edge of my bed, facing the patio of our cabin. The curtains were drawn. I do not know what made me wake up from a dream, and I cannot explain what prompted me to go out on my own cabin balcony that early morning. It was about 2: 30 in the morning. When I went out on the balcony, I went to the balcony railing.

Our ship was about 200 miles offshore, and its first stop was at Half Moon Cay, a private Carnival island. Our cabin was located on the port side of the ship, facing west, and moving in a southerly direction.

At first glance, I was attracted to the bow of the ship, as the moon was visible through a small mountain of clouds. The moonlight cascaded over the dark blue clear water below. Then I looked up, looking straight to port.

To my surprise, I noticed a very large cluster of colored lights. One light appeared very bright and white in the center, while a series of smaller individual lights of blue, green, and red surrounded it. I can't be sure, but it looked like its shape was triangular. I guess it was about 70 degrees from the horizon, and its scale, though hard to determine, would have covered a bald fist at arm's length. Based on this definition, I understand that this object was very large and probably close. He didn't move or make a sound. He was just floating. A very light fog cloud obscured about 25% of the visible object.

It took my brain a few minutes to register what it was seeing. Watched for about 10 seconds. I was stunned! It definitely wasn't a plane. It is also unlikely that it was a helicopter, especially given the distance from land.

I must admit that, despite the initial state of shock, I was very proud of myself, as I immediately realized the rarity of this compliance and quickly took action. I was registered that only a photo or video of this object would free me from any decorations if I decided to share this incredible sight with another.

Thus, within 7-9 seconds, the following actions occurred: I quickly remembered that I had left our camera bag right outside the patio door, on the floor, away from the passageway with normal traffic. The small spaces of our cabin made it a logical place to store things. Coincidentally, this will also offer me the shortest distance in finding the cameras and shooting this object. When I turned to open the door, I put one foot inside our cabin and left the other outside, thereby keeping the door open. I reached for our video camera, and as I retreated back to the open balcony railing, I opened the lens housing and activated the camera at the same time. That's why I refer to the time frame of 7-9 seconds.

Why is this important? This will become quite clear from my message.

When I turned the camera up and in the direction of the object, to my utter horror, it disappeared. He just disappeared. I couldn't believe it. Only a few seconds had passed. But that didn't stop me. In the distance, I noticed a very faint but bright light. At first I thought it might be a planet like Mars, which, as I recall, was clearly visible in the western sky at that time of year. I still decided to zoom in and film it, if this was what I was watching in complete amazement a few seconds earlier, and twenty times more!

I shot almost two minutes of video. I used a plug to secure the camera. Although I understand that a digital camera zoomed in to an almost infinite range can cause square pixelation, and that some objects brightly lit as a source can produce false images, such as a rainbow effect with colored lights flickering; what I saw was quite different. It seemed to have a single image of light, which was counteracted by the sudden appearance of a second (different) colored light from behind. Then a third colored light.

I don't think Mars will react that way. At that point, I felt that I had recorded enough film to convincingly justify something clearly unidentified as nothing more than an unexplained, unidentified flying object (UFO). It's time to wake up my wife.

Leaving our two children asleep, I would soon add a second pair of eyes for a sanity check to see if I was imagining the whole thing. I went into our cabin and woke her up. Despite her drowsiness, like a good soldier, she trudged with me to the balcony to add at least one witness to this observation. While she controlled (the woman) with the binoculars, I continued to shoot the object. Again, much more distinctly, the red object was sinking from behind a larger, brighter object, as if it were floating or orbiting around it.

The mystery became even more bizarre, as a few minutes after the sighting, a group of three ships suddenly appeared, floating on the water in the distance. I know for a fact that they weren't there before. After I discovered them, my film shows at least one of them floating on the surface.

In conclusion, I can only assume the following: did (whatever he was) possess some kind of artificial intelligence that marked him about my presence on deck? If so, did it react at an incredible speed (as I've heard on other occasions) to avoid a video camera image that could clearly compete with the one I ended up shooting? To film this, maybe 1-2 miles away instead of 20 miles away? I'll never know.

And what was the significance of the sudden appearance of three small vessels in the ocean? I have attached pictures or frames of the video I shot. I kept the video to myself. At the time of writing, 4 and a half years later, only 6-7 people know about our UFO encounter.

Summary: Multi-light triangle shaped UFO over Caribbean Ocean, as viewed from a cruise ship. The following is an account of a real UFO sighting from the balcony of a cruise ship in the Caribbean in 2002. I’m not sure why I have waited this long to file this report, but once an ardent skeptic of most UFO tales, everything changed on a late summer night in the Atlantic Ocean. So although late in arriving, here is my story: On August 27, 2002, while cruising aboard the ship Carnival Pride, I woke up from a deep sleep, only to find myself oddly sitting on the edge of the bed, facing our cabin’s patio door. The drapes were drawn. I do not know what alerted me to arise from my sleep, nor can I explain what prompted me to go out onto the cabins private balcony that early morning. It was approximately 2:30 am. As I stepped out onto the balcony, I moved forward to the balcony railing. Our ship was roughly 200 miles out from land, with the first destination stop, being Half Moon Cay, Carnival’s private island. Our cabin was positioned on the port side of the ship, facing west, traveling in a southerly direction.

At first glance I was drawn to the front of ship, as the moon was out and nearly visible through a small bank of clouds. The illumination of the moon cascaded over the dark blue pristine waters below. Then I proceeded to glance upwards, staring straight port side. To my amazement I spotted a very large cluster of multicolored lights. One light appeared to be very bright and white at its center, while a series of smaller individual lights of blue, green and red surrounded it. I can’t be sure, but it appeared very much as if its shape were triangular. My best guess is that it was approximately 70 degrees off horizon and its scale, although difficult to determine would have covered a bald fist at arms length. By this determination, I gather that this object was very large and probably close. It did not move or make a sound. It merely hovered. A very slight misty cloud obscured about 25% of the visible object. It took a few minutes for my brain to register what it was seeing. I watched it for about 10 seconds. I was stunned! It definitely was not a plane. It was also unlikely a helicopter, especially given the distance from any land mass. I must admit, despite the initial state of shock, I was quite proud of myself, in that I immediately recognized the rare nature of this observance and quickly took action. It registered with me, that only a photo or a video of this object, would exonerate me of any embellishment, should I choose to share this unbelievable sight with another. So the following actions occurred within the frame work of 7-9 seconds: I quickly remembered I had left our camera bag, just inside the patio door, on the floor, out of the way of the normal traffic aisle. The small quarters of our cabin made this a logical storage place. Coincidentally, it would also offer me the shortest distance in retrieving the cameras and film this object. As I turned to open the door, I placed one foot inside our cabin, keeping my other foot outside, thereby propping the door open. I reached in for our video camera and as I backpedaled to the open balcony railing again, I opened the lens case, activated the camera, all at the same time. This is why I reference the time frame of 7-9 seconds. Why is this important? It will become perfectly clear with my next testimonial.

As I swung the camera upwards and toward the direction of the object, to my utter dismay, it was gone. It had simply vanished. I couldn’t believe it. Only a few seconds had passed. I was however, not deterred. I noticed off in the distance, a very small but bright light. At first I thought it might be a planet, such as Mars, which as I recall, was highly visible in the Western sky at that time of the year. I still decided to zoom in and film it, in the event it might have been what I watched in total astonishment a few seconds earlier, and twenty-times larger! I took nearly two minutes of video. I used the railing cap to steady my camera. While I realize, that a digital camera, zoomed to a near infinite range, can cause square pixilation’s and that some subjects, illuminating brightly as a source, can create false images, such as a rainbow effect with twinkles of various colored lights; what I saw, was something far different. It seemed to have a single image of light, countered by the surprise emergence of a second (different) colored light from behind. Then a third colored light. I don’t think Mars would react that way. At that point, I felt I had recorded a sufficient amount of tape to make a convincing case for something obviously unidentified as nothing short of an unexplained, unidentified flying object (UFO). It was now time to wake up my wife. While keeping our two children sleeping, I would soon add a second set of eyes, in a sanity check, to see if I was imagining the whole thing. I went inside our cabin and awoke her. Despite her groggy state, like a good trooper, she trudged out on the balcony with me, to add an equal witness to this sighting. While she manned (woman) a set of binoculars, I continued to film the subject. Once again and much more clearly, a red object immerged from behind the larger brighter object, as if hovering or orbiting around it.

The mystery only became more bizarre, as within minutes of the sighting, a group of three ships floating on the water, off in the distance, suddenly appeared. I know for certain that they were not there before. After discovering them, my film shows at least one of them floating on the surface. To conclude, I can only surmise the following: Did (what ever it was) possess some artificial intelligence that flagged it of my observing presence on deck? If so, did it react by speeding away at an incredible rate (as I’ve heard of, in other cases) to avoid a video camera image that clearly would have rivaled the one I eventually captured? To film it at maybe 1-2 miles away vs. perhaps 20 miles? I’ll never know. And what significance did the surprise appearance of three smaller vessels on the ocean have to do with this experience. I have enclosed snapshot pictures or frames of the video I shot. I have kept the video to myself. As of this writing, after 4 ½ years, only 6-7 other people know of our UFO encounter.
