Initial data
At about 21:16 JPW was near his house, enjoying the good weather, when he accidentally looked up and noticed an object of indeterminate shape in the evening sky.
He quickly went inside to get binoculars to get a better look at it. He said that the object was about 30° above the horizon. He described it as a kind of slow-moving platform sliding from east to west. Under its flat bottom, he noticed three white lights going in a straight line; they were like flashlights pointing downwards.
Around the UFO's rim, he could see several alternating flashing red and blue lights. At first he thought he was looking at the plane, but there was no sound from the object.
He was curious enough to call the author of the original material on Monday, September 12, and report it. But he wants anonymity and does not want the report to be published unless someone else reports a similar observation.
