On October 2, a mysterious green ball fell from the sky in Montreal, eventually changing color to orange. His fall was watched by viewers of the TV channel TVA during the live broadcast of weather presenter Colette Provenche at 22:37 local time.

The CBC TV channel, citing experts from Lunar Meteorite Hunters, reports that the object was visible in the Canadian provinces of Quebec and Ontario, as well as in the American states of Connecticut, Rhode Island, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Wyoming and Ohio. "Hunters" doubt that it was a meteor, with the fall of which the sky should glow for several seconds. Besides, their camera didn't record anything.

Le Journal de Montréal learned the opinion of a scientist from the Mont-Megantic Observatory. Sebastian Giger believes that it was the fall of a large meteor. He added that the color of the ball can explain its composition: often the blue and green glow is due to the presence of magnesium.

The publication also writes that the police refute local media reports about a fire in one of the suburbs, allegedly caused by a meteorite.
