On February 25, 1999, a group of 14 forestry workers witnessed a moose being lifted off the ground and carried away with it a strange object in the form of a flying disk. A few days later, the body of the moose was found a few kilometers from the place of abduction.
On a cold winter morning on February 25, 1999, fourteen forestry workers were planting trees about 20 km west of Mount St. Helens in the Cascade Mountains of Washington State.
For most of the morning, three workers admired wild moose grazing in a nearby valley. Suddenly, a flying disk with two stripes on the surface appeared from behind the top of a nearby ridge and began to hover in a northeasterly direction. The men at first thought it might be a parachute or a hang glider, but over time it did not lose altitude.
The object turned to move towards the herd of moose, and the three men called the rest of the work crew to come and look. All fourteen men stood and watched as this strange object flew towards the moose.
The object moved silently and was able to get quite close to the herd before they noticed it. Seeing his approach, the moose got scared and ran to the east, towards the forest. One elk separated from the others and ran along the logging road to the north. The flying object flew after this lonely moose.
Suddenly, some invisible force tore the moose off the ground. Then the object flew away with the animal slowly rotating under it. He moved up the ridge, barely passing the tree line, and then descended into the next valley and disappeared from sight. A few minutes later, the device reappeared without a tied moose and took off into the sky at great speed.
Witnesses reported that after the incident, a herd of moose remained in the same area, but huddled together.
Fairfax and Davenport examined the body of an elk found to the north of this place. They could not determine whether it was the same moose that was seen floating with a UFO, but assumed that it was probably him.
All 14 workers worked in this farm for several years and were recognized as reliable witnesses. However, no official investigation was conducted by the authorities.
