Mom believes her house is haunted after she received a photo of a ghost leaving their basement in the middle of the night.

On October 21, the mother of four children, Amanda Pitt, heard footsteps in the kitchen. All the children of the 34-year-old woman were asleep — she checked — but the steps did not disappear.

Checking the surveillance camera in the kitchen, Amanda from York County, Pennsylvania, USA, saw a dark figure standing in the doorway.

She woke up her 34-year-old husband Jeffrey Pitt, convinced that they had been robbed. There were no signs of forced entry, but their English shepherd, Ollie, was shocked, she said.

Although they are scared, provided that the thing does not harm them, they are happy to live with it.

"I heard walking and thought it was one of my children," she said. "I went upstairs, looked into their rooms and saw that they were asleep, I didn't think anything about it, so I fell asleep again."

She continued:

"I made sure Jeffrey was still in bed because I thought it might be him. I checked the camera and stared at it for a while because I thought I saw someone. I turned it off, wondering, "What is it?". I was too scared to go back upstairs, so I turned the camera back on and saw the figure, so I took a screenshot. My first feeling was that someone had broken in. I woke my husband up and said that it seemed to me that someone was in the house, and the children were upstairs. He went upstairs and checked the whole house, but there was no one there. I showed him a picture of the figure, and he was like, "What is this?".

I have a dog, and if he hears a noise, he goes crazy, but he's scared."

She says that since moving into the property in 2020, their motion sensors have often triggered when no one was there.

Oddly enough, all the oddities happen on the 21st of every month. Some of the footage was shot on January 21, 2021, which shows how the door opens, and there is no one there.

Amanda said:

"Different things have happened here before. The people who used to live here didn't live here for long, but we never found out why."

She added:

"It looks like the 21st is the day when something happens. If the situation continues to escalate, we will study it in more detail and, perhaps, invite an expert. If it doesn't cause any harm, we'll live with it until we can move on."

Original news

A mum reckons her house is haunted after she bagged a picture of a ghost leaving their basement in the middle of the night.

On October 21, mum of four Amanda Pitt heard footsteps coming from around the kitchen.

All of the 34-year-old’s kids were asleep – she checked – but the footsteps persisted.

Checking the kitchen’s security camera Amanda, from York County, Pennsylvania, US, saw a dark figure standing the doorway.

She woke up 34-year-old Jeffrey Pitt husband, convinced they were being burgled.

There was no sign of a break in but their English Shepherd Ollie was, she claims, shaken.

Although terrified, on the condition that the thing doesn't cause them harm, they are happy to live with it until they are able to move.

"I could hear walking and I thought it was one of my children,” she said.

"I went upstairs and looked in their rooms and saw they were sleeping, I didn't think anything of it so I went back to sleep.”

She continued: “I made sure Jeffrey was still in bed because I thought it could be him. I checked on the camera and stared at it for a little bit because I thought I saw somebody.

"I turned it off wondering 'what is that?' and laid there, I was too scared to go back upstairs so I turned the camera back on and I saw the figure so I screenshotted it.

"My first instinct was that someone had broken in.

"I woke up my husband and said that I thought there was someone in the house and the kids were upstairs.

"He went upstairs and checked the whole house but there was nobody there. I showed him the photo of the figure and he was like 'what is that?'.

"I have a dog and if he hears a noise he goes crazy but he was scared.”

She says that since moving to the property in 2020 their motion sensors have often been set off when there’s been no one there.

Weirdly, all of the oddities appear to happen on the 21st of each month.

Some footage was gathered on January 21st 2021 that showed a door opening with no one there.

Amanda said: "Things have happened here before. The people who lived here before didn't live here for very long but we never found out why.”

She added: "It seems like the 21st is the day that things happen. If things keep escalating, then we'll look into it more and maybe get an expert in.

"If it's not causing any harm then we'll live with it until we're able to move."

Pareidolic illusion

A variety of visual illusions (the so-called "sensory illusions additions"); is the formation of illusory images, as a basis which are the details of the real object. Thus, the vague and obscure the visual image is perceived as something distinct and defined — for example, figures of people and animals in the clouds, the image of a man on the moon, "a hidden message", audible when you reverse the audio recordings, the shadows formed by leaves or complexes of objects in certain lighting (sometimes at a certain angle).

Deliberate falsification

This version includes any falsifications that imitate unexplained phenomena both from the outside: practical jokes, flash mobs, fake news, witness fraud, staging, etc.

There are many ways to make something similar to a ghost or a flying saucer from improvised materials, without using video and photomontage.

Many homemade things made for the sake of a joke, a practical joke or a direct imitation of a mystical being or event can be taken as unexplained not only in photos and videos, but also in reality.

Investigation

Versions testing, their confirmation or refutation. Additional information, notes during the study of materials

Perhaps someone really broke into the house and/or decided to play a joke. It is necessary to find and study the original image and other records from this place.
