The mysterious disappearance and return of 17-year-old Serefina Long from British Columbia (Canada) has become one of the most mysterious and amazing stories of its time. In 1871, the girl went to the Mount Morris forest in search of cedar cones, but no one expected that she would go missing.

Serefina, belonging to an Indian tribe, was considered a second-class person for the local authorities, and therefore no one was looking for her. Tribal comrades grieved and soon declared the girl dead. However, almost a year later, an incredible thing happened: Serefina returned from the forest.

According to the testimony of the girl herself, when she was collecting cones, she was suddenly grabbed by a huge hairy hand. She tried to scream, but they gagged her with a second hairy hand. A creature resembling a huge wild man lifted Serefina into the air and easily carried her into the depths of the thicket.

"I was terrified, I resisted with all my might," the abducted woman recalled. "At that time I was strong, but all my attempts were in vain. The wild man was as strong as a young bear. He easily held me under his arm, and with his other hand smeared my eyes with wood resin so that I could not see anything. Then he lifted me onto his shoulder and ran. Despite my horror, I couldn't help but admire his light breathing, great strength and speed."

After some time, they reached their shelter - a cave on the mountainside, although Serefina could not determine the exact location, as she was blinded by tar. Only after she was roughly thrown on the stone floor of the cave and the resin was removed from her eyes, Serefina was able to see her surroundings.

"I sat down and saw that I was in a huge cave. The floor was covered with animal skins. The light came from a small hearth in the middle. When my eyes got used to the dimness, I noticed that next to the young giant who led me to the cave, there were two wild people - a man and a woman. They seemed very old, but they were friendly. Later I found out that they are the parents of the young Sasquatch who kidnapped me. They took good care of my nutrition, feeding me roots, fish and meat," Serefina said.

According to the girl, the whole year of captivity Yeti vigilantly watched her and tried never to lose sight of her. However, Serefina could not get used to such a life, because her fiance was waiting in her village. She was very bored and when she learned to speak the Sasquatch language a little, she began to ask them to let her go home. But every time she was refused. Out of anguish and despair, Serefina fell ill and decided to tell the Sasquatches that she would die if she was not released to her village, where a healer from the tribe could help her.

One day, after crying for a long time, a young yeti covered the girl's eyes with resin, took her to the forest, pointed in the direction of her house and left.

This story of Serefina's abduction and return was retold by many sources, and some of them claimed that the returned girl was pregnant. It was also reported that some time later she gave birth to a child who, according to rumors, was born with multiple deformities and lived only a few hours.

Serefina restored her connection with her native village and returned to her loved ones, who met her with joy and surprise. Her return caused shock and mixed feelings among residents who hardly believed in this incredible story.

Many speculated about Sasquatch's role in her disappearance, but no evidence has been found. Some attributed everything that happened to the usual abduction story, while others saw it as something supernatural. But whatever happened to Serefina during the year of her absence, it will remain a mystery.
